nice, we are spending a few nights there. flying in/out of rome. I'm sure it's a long shot as it will only be the NLDS. Hopefully the phils get the dbags...then I won't feel like I'm missing anything

Yeah that would be good. So much for playing the Pirates.

that's not an option...it's just team by team basis

eagles are +350, making them the SB favorites...pats are +450

I know you're kidding. History speaks for itself though.

I don't think the eagles have the best value on the board. They're not exactly well prepared to deal with a vick injury. I read that ronnie brown has the 2nd best passer rating on the roster :lol:

GB at +450 seems like a nice play. Atlanta at +1000. Houston at +2500 as a sleeper

I wouldn't say scare, but I'd like to avoid them in round 1.

    Cautious optimism in these parts

Was thinking about Cliff Lee's 5 shutouts and what the record might be, so I looked it up.

In 1916, Grover Cleveland Alexander, of your favorite team, pitched 16 shutouts, the modern major league record. (Some other guy also had 16, in 1876.)

Juan Marichal...10 SHO and 24 CG in 1965. 30 CG in 1968. and you think halladay is a stud?
...oh and if any of you sons of bitches who own homes haven't looked at the possibility of refinancing yet, you're a god damn fool :o:mrgreen:

Jack Chesbro has the record, 48 in 1904 (and 41 wins) for the NY Highlanders. But he blew the pennant to the Boston Pilgrims on the last day of the season, I believe.

Halladay would get 15-20 CG's a year if they let him. Few games a year they're blowing the other team out and they take him out after 7 just because. And he still gets 7-10 a year.

I think Fixer and I predicted 90 to 95 wins.

11/27. just spent a ton of money on baby furniture last week. that shit is expensive. going to finish the nursery this weekend...I want that thing done before football/mlb playoffs

We just bought our 2nd $250 crib. But didn't spend that much on other stuff. We had a dresser already. Somebody gave us a changing table. Not too bad. There's talk of another bookshelf - about $100. :o #2 is due 1/23/12.

Nah, we are gonna keep it a surprise. First time in my life I'm hoping to see a penis :D

you guys gonna find out what you're having this time around?

$250...damn. Where did you go? We hit the baby supermart (or something like that) over in broomall. Got a glider w/ottoman, crib, dresser...not cheap

Crazy even talking about this stuff. My conversations get a lot less cool as I keep getting older

Nice, yeah we're going to have another surprise. Would be nice to have one of each. 2 boys would be pretty crazy. Can't lose either way. :D

Just ordered it from amazon. Can't fit that shit in either of our cars anyway. Forgot about the glider - somebody got that for the shower. I gotta paint Johnny's new room soon - it's fucking lavender right now (leftover from the last homeowners). Yea, really boring convos. I feel sorry for the single guy who ends up at our table at Indian buffet. Sorry everybody else here.

Is john kruk really getting inducted into the phils wall of fame tonight? the guy only played here for 5.5 seasons. I know the team's history is brutal, but this is pretty weak IMO.

at least kruk wasn't overpaid

I just don't think a guy that played here for 5.5 years deserves this kind of recognition.

I think you said it yourself, the team's history is weak. And besides, that '93 season was magical. It was so much fun to watch. And yet, it was painful to watch. There were so many come from behind wins, they were never out of a game. And some of them were down right ugly wins, but hell, it's a long season, they all can't be pretty.
