bastardo has already thrown more innings this year than he ever has in the majors

    True.

When the F did teixeira get to 25 homers? haven't heard anything about him this year. actually for whatever reason, the yanks are really flying under the radar this year. with all the crap in the media about them you would think they are 10 games under 500

Today. His average is really low but he has some serious power this year. Arod is hitting about .300, at least he was coming into last night. Agreed on them flying under the radar, they are playing great baseball right now. Won 14 out of 18 I believe since they were swept by Boston.

I decided I need a break from the Red Sox this weekend. It's just too much for me at this point. I'm too angry and frustrated with this team, so I'm headed up to an island in Maine that has no TV or internet. I gotta get my mind off these losers.

edit: hope cold hammels is ok. I may be an angry red sox fan, but Id never revel in opponents injuries. Gotta beat em the old fashioned way, like the red sox in 04.

Even Yankees? I am with you, but just curious.
Yeah, even Yankees. That's why it's never the same when the Yanks or Sox have seasons with crippling injuries. Even when we capitalize on it (or God forbid, you guys do), it just feels different.

Okay, back to the Phils-Sox. Jon Lester is good.

Okay, back to the Phils-Sox. Jon Lester is good.

And the phils lineup isn't. bad combo

Lester is one of the few guys on this team that I don't mind. tough not to root for him after all he's been through

I want to hate Lester so much, but I can't.

Cliff Lee vs. Jon Lester -- Lee, but not by much
Roy Halladay vs. Josh Beckett -- Halladay, but not by much
Cold Hammels vs. Clay Buckles -- Hammels, but not by much

God I'd love to see this matchup in October.

Wow, finally got home! Kinda a crappy game once Cole went down :( Only bright side was Howards homer.

Also during ask the Phillies, the question was "What band are artist would you like to have play at your backyard.

Raul of course answered Pearl Jam. :D

Shane answered Zac Brown Band, someone answered Kings Of Leon. There were country and rap artists as well.

gay sox sent cameron down. I don't think he's good offensively (strikes out wayyy too much), but he is great in the field. at this point they should consider signing him. His defense alone would mean an upgrade over the crap they're currently rolling out in the corner OF spots.

I was thinking the same thing. As pathetic as the notion of Cameron in the OF would be, it's still better than no upgrade, and he wouldn't cost anything.

What's with the increased use of typing 'gay' in the pejorative in these baseball threads?

why is Ben Francisco still on this team? man he is awful. i'd rather have Mayberry or pretty much any other right handed bat.

Speaking of which, just saw Bocock was outrighted freeing up a spot on the 40-man. So, this could be a sign of this move possibly being made, or - even better and one can hope - means they are going to be making some kind of move for a (better)bat.

especially if they are gonna rely on pitching and defense to win games. It really doesn't make sense to have ibanez/brown in the OF of playoff games if you're only counting on scoring 3 or 4 runs on a good day.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but they should sign him.

Apparently they cleared a spot on the 40 man roster by unprotecting brian bocock. which leads to the question, why was he on the 40 man to begin with.

    haha, nice catch pussy
