I don't think I'd ever buy an SRO ticket. Sounds like such a pain in the ass. It's extortion that they'd charge that much for those tickets. I thought the point of the open-concourse design was to allow openness. Instead it's just a way to rake in more cash. I guess I can't blame them for looking for any source of revenue they can find, but it rubs me the wrong way.

I was able to get them for face value. It was cool being there just because it was one of the biggest hits in phils history. But I agree, it was a pain in the ass...not something I ever see myself doing again.

I want to go wednesday. I'm hoping it's an afternoon game. I'm gonna keep my eyes on stubhub...also thinking about going the scalping route. I figure the prices will be lower if it's a day game.

Yankees-Phillies last memorial day we had really shitty tickets and just stood in the standing room areas. We had a great time, probably got distracted at times but enjoyed it.

A lot of those guys were reclamation projects. It wasn't a team bought with a quarter billion dollar offseason acquisition program, you know? But yeah, I guess technically it wasn't all that much of a "home grown" team.

I hear you, I just find it amusing that the 2009 team is considered bought when in fact they probably had more players from their system on the team than in 1996.

yeah, I think regular season games would be different. I am there to watch the game, but if I miss a pitch here or there it's not the end of the world. playoffs are a different animal. at the dodgers game last year it was four rows deep in the area where we were standing. you had to fight the entire time to keep your little area. it was annoying by the 3rd inning.

Yeah, I was going to say it wold probably be different for me for the post season. I would have to get there really early to get a good spot, but then you couldn't even leave to get a beer or anything.

i'm looking at game 2 nlds and sro's are around $100....about $20 more for terrace level/infield. that's about what i've paid the last few years.

when do you think the times will be released though? my friends are holding off until then because of work and stuff. i'm guessing not till sunday night?

yeah, sunday night/monday morning the times will be announced.

I had standing room for the rollins game last year. never again. I will gladly pay the extra 50 bucks for a seat

my friend's are perenially broke though.

but i like sro's for a big game and planting myself right behind home plate....

edit----we usually do a good job of getting there early and boxing others out if someone has to piss or grab beers.

Just touched base with my contact in the phils ticket office. Apparently this year is the toughest playoff ticket during the phils recent playoff run. Each of the last few years I have been able to land extra tickets to various games through the dude I know (game 1 of the NLDS last year, the rollins game vs LA, etc). He said this year he has nothing. People are gonna make a killing on stubhub.

Your boy Blake? Got my game 7 tix, which won't happen, but would be cool if it did. Section 203. And I never do this shit, but I think I'm gonna put them on StubHub at an "offer I can't refuse" price. Being a broke college student has got me pondering things I usually wouldn't do...

you can thank espn and their creation of red sox nation for the yankees hate in this day and age. they made it the "cool" thing to hate the yankees.

Like I said before, I started hating them when they went on free agent spending sprees (Mussina, Giambi, etc.) to make up for their lack of scouting & development. I can't stand the Red Sox either.

I kinda agree with this. In 2004 I think there were more red sox fans in philly than phillies fans. It used to piss me off like no other. I hate the red sox and their bandwagon fans. Now you get the people that say the phils are their NL team and the red sox are their AL team. Makes me sick.

And, PP - LA and Franzke definitely do not suck. I'm waiting for the day No Sideburns Chester Molestor & Big Head Tits McGhee get Lupus, AIDS, and SARS combined so they can take over.

agree Victorino should be leading off but I don't see Cholly doing that.
  • I was just thinkin about this....out of all the teams that could possibly meet us in round 1, I want no part of the Giants in a 5 game series. Just sayin'....

And I really don't think Rollins will be leading off in the playoffs. Legs are too banged up to afford taking that chance. But he'd be a perfect bat in the 6 hole. Hopefully he starts taking better care of himself going forward. Or at least for the one more year he's under contract.

I agree...short series anyone of their top 3 can steal a game

Pat the Bat ya know would smack a few hr's in that series

Not even Lincecum or Cain, but the two lefties Sanchez and Zito. Not only because they're lefties, but because they throw junk.

yeah the giants are the only team that scares me even a little bit. i'm more concerned about our offense going into one of their funks though. they were so hot for so long... if its phils/giants nlcs, i can picture a lot of nail biting 3-2 games...
