That's it. I'm officially done with Lidge. Forget everything he did last year. He's done a total 180. Unbelievable. I had completely no confidence in him once he WALKED - FUCKING WALKED - FuckYouDoMe. The ump was no help either. Anyway this game shakes out, I'm sorry, but I'm off the Lidge bandwagon. This is just ridiculous - he looks like a big wet pussy out there. I still stand by the fact that the championship pile-up on top of him screwed up his knee.

Wow, forget about last year? What I'd give for one fucking championship...and didn't the team just win this game, and are in the division lead..can't believe you're crying..wow....here is something to fucking cry over..

    Tonight's Met lineup:
    1. Cory Sullivan
    2. Luis Castillo
    3. Fernando Tatis
    4. Daniel Murphy
    5. Jeff Francoeur
    6. Jeremy Reed
    7. Alex Cora
    8. Brian Schneider
    9. Fatso

Like I said, I know I'm being selfish for forgetting about last year, but I'm sorry, this is enough. He looks like a weedle bitch out on the mound - like he knows he's going to give up a run before it happens. He needs to go out there looking to eat someone's face. Oh, and crying is all relative - the point is to never trot out a team like the Binghamton Mets as you guys are doing quite well. 8-)

Oh, and just because they won last night doesn't mean dick. They won with 3 hits, and STILL leaving a shit load of baserunners in scoring position - as has been their MO over their 4-8 record since playing AZ. I have no confidence in the lineup right now, which is ridiculous to say. Oh, and Pedro will pitch against the Mets up there at the end of the month - should be interesting...

I get the frustration, but you guys are still the favorites in the NL. In any case, after last year everything should be gravy for at least a decade ;) ..as for the last sentence, what's so interesting about it? The way things have been going, Wright (last Met standing) will be out with a career ending injury and Pedro will pitch a no-hitter..no doubt..

he has just totally lost it mentally. that throw to 1st looked like a guy scared to death. how can a guy be so good last year and so terrible one year later. I mean I have zero confidence he is ever going to save a game for this team. i think we still make the playoffs but you can't win in the playoffs if/when a closer blows games.

That's what happened to him in Houston and why the Phils got him so cheap last year.

So that's the makeup of Lidge then huh? Do very well, get destroyed and lose your confidence, get traded and show everyone up and be perfect, then turn to shit again, then get traded to do it all over again?? If that's the formula, then I guess we're screwed giving him that extension....

After the Pujols homer in the 2005 playoffs, Lidge blew 6 saves and had a 5.28 era in 2006. In 2007, he blew 8 saves out of 27 tries and got demoted and traded to Philly in the offseason,

Before the 2005 playoffs, he was "Lights Out".

it's depressing. i really like lidge and can't forget what he did last year...but my stomach turns every time he comes in now. i thought he looked scared to death last year too, though...haha.

by the way, the slide/belly flop on that triple by howard was awesome.

As a Cubs fan I have no problem with the beer shower. What I have a problem with is that it was on the wrong player. They should have thrown beer at Soriano or Bradley as those two guys are worthless. Congrats already on your sweep tomorrow. What a sorry excuse of MLB team.

What I have a problem with is if that happened in Philly all the douchebags would be out bashing my fair city. I like - love - Chi town, but if I was out there in the bleachers for that I think my natural reaction would be to punch that dude square in the vag.

i thought the same thing - it was blacked out on ESPN here in Philly so I wonder what they had to say about it. If that was Philly oh the horror. the guy they took out 1st, who wasn't the tosser of the beer, was hammered - could barely stand up. the guy they eventually escorted out who did it looked like such a tool.

I've been to Chicago for a baseball series..saw a game at Cominsky and 2 at Wrigley (1 night and 1 day) and Sox fans are WAY more civil...The Cubs fans..well..at night it was a madhouse and the day game was more tame...go figure..the animals roam the nights..What I witnessed last night on TV was worse than anything I've seen SINCE the battery incident in Philadelphia...a sad moment in OUR history...

God, just imagine if Hamels can get right. Just fucking imagine. I don't mind if they stumble now, just as long as they are on fire at the end of September.

Their two biggest problems are Lidge and Hamels. Did anyone ever think fans would be saying that after last year?

I know. Granted, even I freaked after that game on Tuesday, but Lidge has only blown one save since coming off the DL and is 8 out of 9. I'll take around those numbers. Hamels is who reeeally worries me. Not saying Lidge does not, but Colbert is the real issue here. He needs to start throwing his curve more, or at least some other 3rd pitch, because he's not locating well at all.

GET THE BROOMS OUT BOYS!! This is exactly what we needed. Now, if they can only keep it rolling because on paper this rotation looks damn fine....all contingent upon said Hamels.

Lidge pulled another high wire act !!

Blanton another strong outing...Vic kinda saved his ass a few times though...no beers thrown at him ;)

I'm pretty sure the next 2 in ATL are Nationally Televised (FOX,ESPN)

    Hopefully Hamels pitches well today

    WTF !!

If Cholly continues to use Lidge we'll be fighting for the WC and not the divison !!

I can't take it anymore 2 fuckin errors on one play ?!?!?!?!

What's up with Myers making up some BS on what happened to his eye ? First he said he got hit when playing with his son then he said he slipped hitting it on his SUV ?

I think his wife finally clocked him for last year

There's no way charlie will demote him now. I think it will take another 2-4 blown saves before he really considers it. And if he did demote him madson looked like dog shit in that role when lidge was on the dl. So who would close??? I sure myers name will come up but thats not gonna happen. Lidge will be the closer by default for the rest of the way i believe.

It is unreal. The place is fucking cursed. I was at the game and literally thought he was dead. Shit, if I keep going to Citi Field, somehow I'll end up on the DL..anyway, hopefully next year we'll have the opportunity to rekindle the rivalry..

It is unreal. The place is fucking cursed. I was at the game and literally thought he was dead. Shit, if I keep going to Citi Field, somehow I'll end up on the DL..anyway, hopefully next year we'll have the opportunity to rekindle the rivalry..[/quote]

could you put this in the Mets thread and not a Phillies thread please? I remember when you Mets fans complained that we were 'obsessed' with you - not anymore. that being said hope Wright is ok - they really need better and more protective helmets.

man why the hostility? I didn't tell you to fuck off or get out - i asked you nicely to keep the Phillies thread about the Phillies. Is that so hard for your NY mind to comprehend?

It is relevant to the Phillies as Pedro is now pitching for you guys. And yeah, you did tell me to fuck off but used different words, and it's not the first time, boss. And let's get real, you were being condescending, not nice ;) ..
