A pre Bond Craig! Would love to see Matthew Vaughn direct more movies like this.

Sick over the last few days so I watched:

The Running Man (1987 - an old school rewatch)
All Quiet on the Western Front
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
    A Haunting in Venice

All Quiet on the Western Front was very poignant. It showed the stupidity of war in all its glory. I thought Indiana Jones was maybe 20-30 mins too long? But enjoyable all the same. Just my two cents. Haunting in Venice was a little different to what I was expecting but in a good way. I also see The Running Man is getting a remake!?
    Hope you’re feeling better.
Was A Haunting in Venice scary at all? I was interested to see it, but kind of a sissy with spiritual/paranormal stuff..
Look I’m no fan of the scary / horror genre either, but overall this is pretty tame. Just a few moments that made me jump a little. Nothing major, I promise.

    MAD MAX

Mel Gibson looks too young. It's distracting. GIVE ME SOME LINES IN YOUR FACE MAN

A Haunting in Venice is safe to watch. Not horror. Not 70mm either.

I saw that was on Max along with Road Warrior. Need to watch those. Toe Cutter in the first one is the guy who plays Immortan Joe in Fury Road!!

Though i move on to Road Warrior. But Max also has The Postman so maybe I should jump over and follow through my "Kevin Costner's underperforming Epics of the 90's"-trilogy.

😆 That’s funny. Never watched Postman. I read the book. It is far more sci fi than the movie. I played Death Stranding so I feel like I did the whole postman in the apocalypse motif.

This is close to a perfect movie. The music, the pacing, the stunts, Charlize Theron and the rest of the cast. It’s really something special.

What a strange movie. Nowhere near as good as the director’s Dog Soldiers or The Descent (an absolutely terrifying movie).

Starts off with 5 minutes of clunky exposition instead of subtle world building. It’s a weird mix of Escape from New York, Road Warrior, and Gladiator. Some gnarly effects and some good stunts in the final scene (nowhere approaching anything in the Mad Max movies). But disappointing.

At least Bob Hoskins is in it, but he’s wasted.

This on the other (wooden) hand is still quite funny.

Yeah. Gave ut 4,5 on Letterboxd. Hadnt seen it since the cinema.

Furiosa and it works together better than I thought.

Swedish Max doesn’t have The Road Warrior so I guess Beyond Thunderdome is next
