    Captain Phillips 8/10.

Hadn’t seen it since its release. A really enjoyable watch.

    Jurassic World Dominon 6.5/10

likewise a rewatch, I love the Jurassic franchises, this one ☝️ a good to very good, not great.

I got Dungeons and Dragons on the list. Will have to watch that one soon.

Would you travel to stockholm to get to see True Lies on 35mm?
No but maybe I'd go to a theater to see The Abyss. It's the only Cameron movie I haven't seen, and it's not available on any streaming services, which is strange. So like a late-20th century neagrethal, I had to buy the DVD on eBay. But the DVD sucks. I went to try and watch it, and the picture didn't take up the entire screen. I'm not talking the black bars on the top and bottom for Widescreen, I mean it looked like a poorly uploaded YouTube video (a box within a box). It was so weird because the DVD menu was full-screen. Either way, I didn't watch it because that's not how it's supposed to be watched. For Christ's sake, it's a James Cameron underwater adventure movie that he put out between Aliens and T2. How is a watchable version not available?
Yeah. It's famously stuck as 4:3 letterbox. Don't know if some region ever got an anamorphic release.

The Abyss and True Lies are waiting for James Camerons work on and approval of the new HD releases, and has been waiting for years.

True Lies has trickled out on streaming though. At least here in Europe (D+).
I think the wait will continue. Cameron is stuck on that Pandora planet and will be for years to come.

Frankly, I'd take it in old school 4:3 if that's all there is. But not this box within a box crap.
If you have a library card, you can probably find a decent copy to borrow. Just put in a request.

I just watched it again earlier this year when it was streaming on Prime. It's a good movie and the version they streamed was good quality.
    It's a hopeless situation...

My wife wanted something funny, but violent, to get over the frustration of Australia losing to Sweden in the Women’s World Cup, so she chose…

    Deadpool 2.

    Happy with that!  =)

For such a good tournament for Australia, it's rough they couldn't finish with a win.

Weird. I’m feeling no frustration at all.

I like this one a lot. That alien is mean. And I’ll watch anything with Rebecca Ferguson. Gyllenhaal is good too.

A fun Sunday afternoon flick with my near 6 year old. It did plenty for her and I’m an old 80s Nintendo tragic. Good times!

Felt like a movie from like 2003 with John Cusack in a role. In a good way. Straight forward. Concise. Makes me want to re-watch 1408. Because of the John Cusack thing.

Soundtrack on this was great. The No Diggity scene was pretty awesome. Tribe Called Quest and the Four Non Blondes track was great!

    Fun movie.

Just watched Annihilation last night. Really enjoyed it. So much I might actually attempt to read the books (doubtful).

Also watched The Pope’s Exorcist. Pretty decent story, I was just really hoping for a more serious exorcism movie for a change. So tired of the goofy ass twisting of limbs and crawling up walls and projectile blood vomit.

Annihilation is great. Alex Garland does a good job directing.

I read the Southern Reach trilogy prior to seeing the movie. Love those books, but they don’t always offer easy answers. Author does a great job of creating a creepy atmosphere, a sense of dread throughout.

I saw that one, but I never got around to seeing their second King collaboration, Cell. That movie barely made a blip on streaming, not even sure it was in the theaters.

Too bad, I liked the book!

Went to Alamo last night for a Good Burger movie party. We got chef hats, “secret sauce” slime, & a burger stress toy

I did not have a burger during the movie. Just had one Thursday night, so I opted for pizza.
