Quite enjoyed this. De-aged Indy was slightly weird, but not too bad. Would’ve liked more Antonio. Loved the car chase in Morocco. Callback to that final scene in Raiders got me. Harrison Ford, as always, was great!
I saw an interview with him the other day saying that most of the "de-aged" Indy shots was actual footage from old movies, and there are endless cuts to choose from, and then AI just tweaked it just a bit to fit the new scene. So it's actually all him from years ago, not AI generated. I assumed from that that the young Indy would look perfectly real.

It’s pretty good. If I didn’t know, I might not notice. But, as in video games, there’s something a tiny bit off with the eyes. They feel a little lifeless.
Would you travel to another country to get to watch Terminator 2 on 35 or 70mm?
HONEST ANSWERS ONLY
In America? No. It’s too far.
In Sweden? Yeah, probably. I bet you aren’t having to travel too far to get to another country. And it’s T2!
Been in my head for like 10 years, that I wanna watch it as a birthday gift to myself next year when I turn 40. Tried to bring it up to some theatres here in town that show old movies, but they seem uninterested. I've talked to the Swedish Film Institute who has a 1991 35mm copy in their vault (that they say is pristine and rarely played) but it would be costly to have it shown and it's in Stockholm in their cinema... if it would have been here in Gothenburg I could have gathered friends and family to somehow split the cost as my birthday gift. Maybe....
So the other option is travel for a showing. It's being shown in London late August this year. But they seem to show a double bill of it with the original (both on 35) every year... at least they did both in -22 and -21... so maybe I can chill until next year and keep an eye open for it to be shown there, or somewhere else in Europe...
WOULD BE AWESOME. 70mm would be the dream, but that seems to show up way less often. I've seen the first one on 35mm. And ofc the third one and Terminator Salvation (he he)... but never gotten the chance with Terminator 2. And Se7en.

Other people might think we are crazy for traveling for a concert, so why not a movie?
I get it. I love the theater experience still. It’s my preferred way to see a film.
As for the Terminator sequels, T3 is better than people think or remember. Jonathan Mostow has done some good movies (Breakdown and yes, U-571). It’s no T1 or T2, but really, what is?
For Salvation, I enjoy Bale as John Connor and at the time, really loved Sam Worthington. Moon Bloodgood is great in that too. We won’t talk about Genysis. Ugh. The most recent one was fine.
I watched Avatar for the first time last night. I've been on a bit of a James Cameron kick lately having just watched Titanic and both Terminator movies, so I figured I'd finally give this a try. It's good. I guess the imagery doesn't knock my socks off like it might've in 2009 because every video game looks just as good these days. But still, it's a good film. I'll definitely check out the sequel.
Asteroid City which was quirky and decent, either way good way to spend nearly two hours out of the heat.

It was a movie. Well crafted but lacks the style and visual flair of DePalmas original or the third one. Surprisingly flat lightning wise and bland visually. But the action was well constructed, the tension worked and being handcuffed together during a car chase was fun.
But, these movies to me are stuck somewhere between the silly fun of Bond and the gritty reality of Bourne. They are silly, but want you to care... but they have not much of characters (nowadays). So it's just action setpieces with not much holding them together. The set pieces are worth the trip to the cinema... but at the same time, I don't really cared. It's just shallow written "words" because they have to be written. No one cares. WHERE IS THE RABBITS FOOT
