  • Not a movie but a bio/doc of Soleil Moon Frye, aka Punky Brewster.  It was fantastic.  I really, really hope she does more of this.

She unearthed her journals and vhs tapes from when she was a teenager.  She was always filming.  The people she was friends with is incredible.  2 things I never knew were that she dated Danny Boy from House of Pain and she was friends with Casper(Justin Peirce and Harold Hunter.

Give it a watch.  It’s on Hulu.  Highly recommended.
    The Dopest Ghost committed suicide.
    Sad ending.

A bunch of people in those videos committed suicide.  Crazy how many of them there were.

This is the perfect adaptation of Philip K. Dick.

Blade Runner is a good flick, but it feels way more Ridley Scott than Philip K. Dick. And Minority Report is just popcorn bullshit (Tom Fucking Cruise?)--that is to say, another shitty Spielberg hot mess.

A Scanner Darkly feels like Philip K. Dick's novel just bled over onto the screen. The rotoscope might have something to do with that, but I think mostly it's Linklater's reverence for and deference to an amazingly gifted and incredibly nuanced storyteller.

Saw it back when it came out. I believe I loaned it from the renting-video warehouse I worked at.

Hulu dangled this front of me and I bit.  Oh the childhood memories.

I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.
  • Still a PG type movie or would it be PG13 , do you think?

Good question.  I mean when you use a term the “Oreo Line,” you could make a case for the latter.

Haha.  Teen Wolf and Goonies had some stuff I didn't recall when we showed them to our nephew.  He was old enough for it, I think, but I was surprising to see that in a PG based on what they do now.

I was one of the animators on it. And also got credited for script consultation.

I’m watching Shoplifters, and there’s a scene of the grandmother on the beach with her family. She watching them playing in the waves while she sits on the sand. With these old expressive eyes seeing who knows what, she quietly says, “Thank you.”
