    Thank you...

I don't feel like arguing because this is getting pretty lame.

Listen, Obviously I wouldnt post this if I didnt want people telling me the right thing. But if some of you are going to criticize me and call me an idiot or say "have fun in jail buddy" Then OF COURSE Im going to get pretty irritated. If you tell me I was wrong in a nice way, like the person above me did, then I will appreciate it. Dont act all high and mighty like your my mother. Im 19, (going to be 20 in less than 2 months) this is what kids my age do.

Funny thing is, is that the night before I was blazing with my friends and before we even smoked, there were cops all over his block, and one cop high beamed me because he wanted to pass me. It turns out it was most likely something completely unrelated to us having weed. That spooked me out.

So last night, I had the chance to smoke again, I denied it. Only because of what happened last night. Im glad I denied it, because if I got pulled over high and buzzed, then I sureley would've been arrested. Also, my cousin asked me if I wanted more to drink at around 12 and I told him "nah Im good, are we even gonna be here much late anyway?" Im not immature... I learn from my mistakes pretty well. This was just one of those "there just happened to be a cop out of nowhere" things.

Drinking at my age is common, you can't deny that. I like to have fun. I play it safe nearly all of the time. My friends street race all the time, I rarely do that. I learn from my friends mistakes before it happens to me. But at the same time I don't like playing it safe too much. You gotta have fun and experience things at the same time. I think I do a good job of balancing out the two

agree or disagree with me, I dont mind. Just don't be rude. Im a nice guy
No one's denying you're a nice guy, that doesn't matter. We don't know you, you could be my best friend and I'd still tell you that you acted like a fool and you're acting like a fool by justifying it. Good people do dumb things. This was a dumb thing. Whether you think you were good to drive or not is irrelevant. If some driver near you who was naturally shitty and shouldn't have been on the road started driving badly, can you honestly say you'd have had the wits and reactions to keep yourself safe after 5 pints and 2 shots? The roads are dangerous enough without people driving around them intoxicated, however much they think they have their shit together. I know 4 people who've died in car crashes aged 19 in the last year and a half, in two different crashes. You're a young guy, why do you want to risk that just so you can get home a few hours earlier?

You lucked out. You must have done something REALLY great for someone in past years, that karma came back for in a good way. It is a good opportunity, in any case to learn, and NEVER do it again.

I understand. Whats funny is I really dont like leaving early. I dont have a curfew. Usually when I drive home from drinking its around 2 am to even 4 am. I had to leave early because the dude who lived there past out at 12, we atleast stayed there an hour later.

Ok im out, going to a car show. no drinks tonight :D

did you read my posts? i said it, i fucked up and got a DUI and went to jail for 15 days back in 1998. i had LESS to drink than you did. i felt "fine". the point being, i blew over the limit on the test.
but you are acting as if you did nothing wrong.
you would have went to jail if he gave you a breathalyzer. plain and simple.

i had 5 beers over 4 hours when i got nailed. 9 times out of 10 i can pass a field sobriety test even after killing 12 beers in say 2 hours. but you cant beat the breath test.
thats why i said have fun in jail next time. you got really really lucky on many different levels.

when it comes down to it, you broke the law.
    Peace, Love.

sure, if thats what you call it. Considering none of you know me and are making me out to look like a drunk behind the wheel who doesn't know what hes doing then yes. If you think running the flashing red was proof that I was drunk then your wrong. I've driven home from there many times, there are usually no cars. when I saw the cop car (didnt even realize it wa a cop until I passed it), i slowed down to like a 5 mph roll about 15 feet ahead of the stop marker. The intersection is very wierd, so 15 feet ahead isnt in the way of oncoming or passing cars. I just did something a little careless. I didnt legitamately blow past the yield sign. I was just trying to tell a story quickly without getting too detailed. Think what you want I really don't care. I was fine.
I started drinking at 8:30 and left the house at 1 am. I stopped drinking at around 12. By the time I drove I probably had like 2 beers left in me. I was FINE. I dont think a cop would just let me go if he didn't know I was fine. You guys are acting like I was completely drunk and Im a piece of shit for doing it. Im sure none of you guys ever drink or drive home buzzed

Lucky I didnt kill someone? give me a break.

It appears to me it's more to do about your attitude towards this matter in judging yourself as fine. Well, if you were so FINE why even bother to post ANY concerns here about your drinking on this particular occasion?

I've had my occasion when I was young of having too much to drink, luckly no incidents or having to be pulled over. HOWEVER, now I have a limit of ONE drink or NONE, if anymore my lady drives period or I stay put.

So since you believe you were fine then please continue to drive like this cause the only way you appear you'll see the light is to hit the abyss of rock bottom completely. Good luck you'll neeed it.

First of all, worst reasoning ever. Don't hide behind your age. The fact that you know what you did was wrong, but are happy to excuse it is a reflection of your ignorance and arrogance. Not of your age.

Secondly, when you get behind the wheel impaired, you're putting other people's lives at risk. That disqualifies you from "nice guy" running.

Those cops should have thew you in the slammer.

Everyone feels "fine" when the have been drinking.

5 beers and 2 shots is too much to be driving. Maybe you drive ok, but what if somebody else runs a red light, if your reaction is delayed by even a second, you could both be dead, or somebody runs out into the street or so forth..

I'll admit, I'm no angel and have made a few mistakes, but stop thinking you are fine and it's ok to drink and drive.

you sound like my little brother, an idiot.

bottom line, you are just 19 and should have had 2 dui's and underage's by now. lets touch base in 6 years after you've spent some time in jail because, sorry to say man, thats where you're headed if you dont smarten up.

Usually no cars? will it take you plowing into a family going to the hospital with a sick/injured family member before you wait til morning to go home?I don't know about your state but in Ohio a minor(under 21) is considered drunk at .02 Less than 1 beer/shot whatever. also blaring the tunes at wiching hour(close to last call) is incredibly ASSININE.what you are doing is BEGGING to be pulled over and cuffed and stuffed.

And please tell me how you can legitmately blow past what amounts to a stop sign.

Keep playing with fire and you WILL get burned.

Wow I thought I eased up and was nice to stop all of this arguing. Guess not...

to kushikushin- I wont listen? ok, I guess thats what the post I made above means. Im sorry for your grandad and I can see where your coming from if that happened but either you didnt read that post or your just venting.

Jeagler- My record is fine. I have never been arrested, stolen anything. I try to hang out with the right people. If you think hanging out with underage kids who drink is wrong I can understand but thats sums up about 90% of the kids in my town, the others probably have no social life. There is no escaping drugs/alcohol at this age.

saturnal- I hang out with car guys. I own a Porsche (a pretty slow 4 cylinder 944) But still, its a porsche. I like cars, Im a guy. The only time I street race is when Im around them. I NEVER pick races when I'm alone. I dont even like street racing honestly. I have probably raced (only my freinds, never any strangers) 5 times after driving for 2 years.

Im not here to argue. Im sorry everyone here thinks I should be in jail and that I'm apparently ignorant. Oh well.

I used to have a good friend who had a similar experience to yours. He had been drinking, but not a whole lot and totally felt fine to drive home. Problem is, on the way home he got in a car accident. I don't know if he was blaring MMJ and ran a flashing red, or if it was even the other person's fault, or what. Regardless of what caused the accident, the other driver was killed.

Because he had been drinking at all - even though he was fine to drive - he went to prison. Due to a clerical error, he was mistakenly put in the section with the most violent criminals. One day some of the other people in his cell block started a riot and people were killed. Those in his block were then sent to a super-max prison, where they were in solitary confinement for 23 1/2 hours a day for the duration of their sentences.

I saw him on the news before he went. His lawyer was arguing in court that he should have a couple of years knocked off his sentence since he wasn't a violent offender and it was the state's clerical error that put him in the wrong place to begin with. He was denied. He looked like he was beaten all to shit though.

My point is: he was an extremely nice, law-abiding, non-violent guy who was sure he was fine to drive (and maybe he was). But none of this matters if you get in an accident and you've been drinking.
