  • I did learn the lesson. The lesson on how to drive a car most excellently.

If every one else did the same, accidents would be a rarity.

but no I'm wrong...it's the alcohol...nobody ever crashes their car sober...
ah this just confirms to me that you're either joking or trying to get a rise out of people :D cos what you just said was one of the biggest piles of crap I've ever read here :p
    The Astoria??? Orgazmic!
    Verona??? it's all surmountable
Dublin 23.08.06 "The beauty of Ireland, right there!"
    Wembley? We all believe!
Copenhagen?? your light made us stars
    Chicago 07? And love
    What a different life
Had I not found this love with you

You a fan of those sequential/F1 transmissions? They have improved in huge amounts since those earlier ones from the 90's.

They give as much engine control as a stick shift. Most even change gears quicker.
In a race car, but I'm talkin everyday vehicles.

Also in an everyday car, VW makes a similar system, they have it in the GTI.
    It's pretty sweet. (DSG http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct-Shift_Gearbox

But for whatever reason I tend to drive just that extra bit better when I'm sitting with a manual. I'm not sure why they are not so popular in the US.

    too much work I guess.

If they consider that great amounts of fun, perhaps they're not mature enough to drive :p you think rally style driving makes you a better driver? :D Define 'better' and define 'safer' while you're at it

Rally style driving as in able to slide the car without crashing because you know how to hold the slide and put the tail back in. If you don't know how to drift the car, if you happen to get into a slide say...in the wet or snow on public roads the chances of you catching the slide are lower and the end result is a slide off the road, or worse... slide of another car.

I don't think you can argue that having rally skills will not make you a safer or better driver. So safer and better meaning not crashing in tricky situations.

DSG is really fast. When the trans shifts from gear to gear it farts. Dead serious. Pretty cool. My friends are dubbers.

Driving is a skill like anything else. Rally driving is at the apex of this ability in terms of achievement, as is formula one.

If you don't understand the concept of mastering a skill such as this and how that applies to the challenges of just regular everyday road driving (a far less demanding situation), I don't know what else to tell you.
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.
