  • ^while i agree that it would be very cool, i still have some reservations

mostly i just think its too soon since the pens played their last winter classic. all the whiners out there are gonna cry about sidney crosby being too awesome for them to have any fun watching their team slap the puck around...

Yeah I was just talking to a guy who works for the Devils and he said that the Devs Rangers at Yankee Stadium was not happening but he said this was the likely scenario for next year...

  • Yeah the backlash will be huge if the Caps/Pens ends up happening.

I guess they could always go with a can't miss Thrashers/Panthers showdown!

Yea, it's all about filling seats and promoting the NHL though. Purists might be tweaked, but I don't see how that's a bad thing for the sport...

Yankee stadium cant happen due to the NCAA Bowl game they landed.

The NHL is almost ready to ruin the Winter Classic. Having it in Pittsburgh against Washington staves off the ruining for at least 1 more year.

Yeah, as much as I'd like to see it get spread around like all star games, this is a huge TV exposure gimmick for the NHL. There are at least 15 teams in the league that we'll never see in this thing (barring any complete turnaround).

Pa. man charged with killing wife in fight over TV

    (AP) – 15 hours ago

SOUTH FAYETTE, Pa. — Police say a Pennsylvania man killed his wife and set their house on fire after the two argued over him staying up late to watch a hockey playoff game on TV that went into triple overtime.

Allegheny County police say Robert Abrams argued with his wife, Jeannette, early Friday because he had stayed up late to watch the Pittsburgh Penguins play the Ottawa Senators in Game 5 of their first-round matchup.

Authorities say 44-year-old Jeannette Abrams was dead before the fire started. They say he likely started the blaze to hide the killing.

Robert Abrams of South Fayette was charged Friday with homicide, arson and abuse of a corpse. He suffered burns and other injuries in the fire and was hospitalized.

Police do not have attorney information listed for Abrams.

Jesus, I thought I was a diehard penguins fan. Pretty messed up shit right there. The irony is that now he will miss the rest of the playoffs.

I'm surprised it took so long for that last call in the 2nd period. What are they smoking up in Toronto after reviewing that goal? The net was totally off the ice. Blind referees in Ottawa. Guy calls it right away a goal, while he was on the side where the net was out of the ice for a few seconds. Not just the green part of the net, but the whole damn thing. Sees the puck pass the line then wave's his hand's "it's a goal". I hope the Pen's come back & win tonight.
  • Practically a year to the day since the Pens overcame another 3 goal deficit to win Game 6 on the road. Too bad for the rest of the league that the remainder of the playoffs will play out the same as well.

    Go Pens!

Tough loss last night. Good to see Staal back though. The boys got to find away to get Crosby some free space. But no worries, we still have home ice advantage.
Damm, just thought of something, if game 6 is this coming Monday....I'm not going to be able to see it...Have an important function to attend.....like in Buffalo :D I'll just have to catch the highlights next morning.

Hey I wasn't complaining I was just pointing out the obvious.

And the Pens were doing fine without Sid and Geno, so whoever thought I was referring to those two obviously doesn't have a clue how depleted the Pens are right now. They'll be fine. Shero will use the cap space freed up by Malkin's injury to make some moves and the key role players that are out will be back before the playoffs.
