You're going by one bad year in the clutch. Forget that he's a .300 hitter in these situations. You're going by perception. He's a better hitter than all those guys. Fielding is even except he's better than Cabrera. Crede is injured every year. And you're also forgetting not many players who come here don't exactly do what they did with their pevious teams. Alex has hit great with the Yankees. Even in his off years. Which is on for some of those players mentioned above.
man I wish it was only just one yr of not hitting clutch..how bout 2 yrs ago with the whole SI debacle where they had to baby him cause he couldnt focus or whatever the fuck was wrong with him. And clutch hasnt been exactly the operative word for him in the playoffs either all these yrs with us. Like mentioned before we need a Brosius type of guy...hell even a Charlie Hayes type of guy! lol!

hey I wasbittin why dont you like Crede? cause of the injuries?

It wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to seem. He turned it on in the second half. And clutch hasn't been the word for the rest of the Yanks also. If Rivera gets that out in G4 in the 2004 ALCS. Everyone's perception about him is changed.

    Yes Red Sox lost today.

true true....theres a few players that deserve blame, but obviously the scrubs are more magnified cause of his salary and his expectations. I mean he WAS brought here to win a world series ring or to at least make it easier and it hasnt worked out that way. Bad trades, errors, etc all taken into account...but still. Can't exactly say that A-rod's lived up to expectations. ANd def not a coincidence that each team he's left has improved drastically.

Don't get me wrong, I like Crede. But his injuries do get annoying. He's got those recurring back problems that never seem to fully heal and they can just flare up at any time. He was a tremendous clutch hitter 2-3 years ago, but injuries kinda derailed him last year and this year he's so streaky. Well, I guess he's always been streaky, but we always put up with it cuz he's fielding is outstanding. His fielding has gone down a notch this year, although he made a run-saving catch in today's game. It's definitely give and take; when he's hot he can carry you, when he's cold it will drive you crazy. He'll always be a special player to White Sox fans as he was drafted by the team, came up through the organization and was integral to the championship team in 2005. I wouldn't want to give him up for nothing, but damn, we're talking about A-Rod. No comparison.
He floated back down 'cause he wanted to share, his key to the locks on the chains he saw everywhere.

I have to say I'm happy with the Sox performance this week. I was hoping for 3-3 with all their pitching woes. I'll definitely take 4-2 and it was nice to see a good debut by Bowden on Saturday.

okl I hear you on all of that BUT lets put it this way

when was the last time your home crowd booed Crede worse than your biggest rival whoever it may be..and on a conSISTENT basis like is happening lately wit Arod every at bat every error every bnon hustling play. I'll take Crede with the injuries and whatever heart he has over this guy in a heartbeat. Worse comes to worse we can platoon him with an up and coming prospect or some utility guy.
Take his non clutch numbers and his supposed amazing stats and all that. Arod has no heart, no character and well, hes just a SCRUB!

IP H R ER BB K HR ERA
    Eric Gagne (L,4-3) 1.0 4 3 3 0 1 1 6.81

He also blew the save, as he came into the 8th inning with a 2-1 lead. Does Milwaukke really think they can win anything with this guy pitching the 8th with a 1 run lead?

maybe they'll pitch CC in Sheets turn in the rotation, as well as his own turn. Maybe use him as the closer as well. He's thrown 88 innings in 11 starts since becoming a Brewer. Milwaukee knows they can't re-sign him, so they don't care if his arm falls off. they just hope it happens in 2009. seriously, whoever signs him next year may be dealing with the next Zito. He threw 250 IP last year, and has thrown 210 already this year.

Good luck with him next year. It's no small rumor that the Yanks will beone of the teams heavily pursuing C.C. and no one is going to be able to outbid them.

Growing up as a Red Sox fan in Philly, I hated the Blue Jays and Tigers more than the Yanks because they were always competing with the Sox from 86-90. It wasn't till I had a Yankee fan as a roommate in college as a sophomore that I grew to despise them.

Heck, I even dated one for awhile freshman year in college - till I converted her away from the evil empire. ;)

It's all good she's an O's fan but loves Jeter and A-Rod. She did ask me for a Yankee t-shirt I told her yeah you get it with your own money.

She knows when I go down to Florida in December I'll see a bunch of Spring Training games and pick up a ST Yankee shirt for her. She did wear a Red Sox shirt on the cruise a gift from my sis. I told she had to wear it at least once. :)

Yep, I loved all the talking heads and national media who said that the Sox would be home for October. It shows how little credit they gave to the organization, management and team that has won 2 titles in 4 years.

Yep, I loved all the talking heads and national media who said that the Sox would be home for October. It shows how little credit they gave to the organization, management and team that has won 2 titles in 4 years.

People just don't understand how much of a problem this guy was. You never know if the guy is going to cry, quit, and shut it down for 5-6 weeks. He's killing it now because he's playing for a contract. Good luck to the next team that signs him.

I'll take Jason Bay and club house harmony.

Congrats Red Sox!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) Pedroia - MVP - gets my vote ;)

to think, I drafted that fucker in the 28th round of a really deep fantasy league last year and waived him when he got off to his 6 week, sub .200 start .... could have owned that guy for 3 years with that late draft round.

oh well, at least he's on the sox.

Nice fricking play, I played 3rd and many times I wouldn't expect that play coming to me.
