I was in that virtual waiting room forever! After about two hours I finally got through. I was ready to give up and took it as a sign that my one and only Fenway experience, 5.19.08 Lester's No-Hitter, should stay that way.
Planning a trip out from CA for the series against the Dodgers and since I can most likely buy tickets through a friend that works for the Dodgers, I opted for October tickets against the Yanks. It would be really exciting if the pennant race came down to that weekend.

That's not a bad one game to go to. I gave up on the virtual waiting room in '06, if it weren't for being able to stay with family my once a year Fenway trip might get canceled. But if it's doable Baltimore is easy to get tickets for and it's been pretty much a home game the last 5 years.

    Good news!

TAMPA, Fla. — Yankees star Alex Rodriguez has been contacted by federal investigators regarding a Canadian doctor accused of selling an unapproved drug.

Rodriguez said Monday he was "aware" of the investigation and plans on cooperating with government officials who are looking into Dr. Anthony Galea. Rodriguez said a date for an interview has not been set.

"I can't really get into that," Rodriguez said.

That should be a great series to go hit up! I was actually at the Lester No-Hitter as well. Took a standing room only ticket on the right field roof deck at the last minute. I remember how cold it was that night because a lot of people on the roof deck didn't show, so myself and three friends were allowed to go sit in one of those roof deck tables. Then, saw such an unreal game! Such a treat to see a no-hitter!

Can't wait for the season to start!

I was out in Boston for the first time ever visiting my brother at Umass-Lowell that week and got incredibly lucky to go to that game. Just so I don't pass myself off as a wolf in sheep's clothing, I should say that I'm a die-hard LA sports fan. But overall, a sports fan in general and I had always wanted to see games at Fenway, Wrigley, and (old) Yankee Stadium. We were actually at the day game against Milwaukee the day before but left halfway through (sacreligious I know!) because I scored tickets for Game 7 of the playoff series between the Celtics and Cavs later that day. My brother also surprised me when I got in with Green Monster tickets for Monday's game which was Lester's No-hitter. You're right, it was really cold that night. And I thought it was just cold since I'm from CA! Needless to say, sitting on the Green Monster and witnessing a no-hitter was one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had.

After following the Dodgers to Wrigley last year, I'm hoping that I get to make it back to Boston this season because watching Manny go back into Fenway is something not to miss!

Headed to spring training in AZ in a couple weeks and amped for the season to start!

Wow...what's up kasedoug? That's a fantastic story. I'm actually one of the only Sox fans who still loves Manny, regardless of what team he plays for or his antics or the fact that he's a steroid user. Love Manny. Glad you had fun at our hallowed 98 year old stadium. You're welcome anytime and regardless of what you've heard, as long as you're not wearing Yankees shit, we don't usually harass. I love meeting different fans from across the country. We met a few Mariner fans last year and they were a riot.

Yeah, I have sat on the monster one time. Of course it was a 1-0 loss to Texas and no homers my way. Still was a great, sunny, summer day. I have seen plenty of games over the years, but since I am living up in Maine now I don't get to Fenway as much. Psyched to have picked up Sox/Dodgers tickets for Manny's return. Plus, I have had Matt Kemp on my Dynasty League Fantasy Baseball Team since he arrived in the majors, so I am pumped to see him play in person.

@FenwayFaithful Thanks for the welcome! I had an amazing time in Boston while I was on that vacation a couple years ago and hope to visit more frequently now that my little sister is at BU. It was awesome to get swept up in the passion your fans have for the Red Sox if just for a night.

@jervin007 Kemp is amazing. Both he and Ethier had breakout years last season and I can only hope they continue to improve upon their successes this coming season. Just hoping that all the tabloid fodder and attention that Kemp is getting doesn't go to his head and interfere with his play.

Fenway Park has so much history, and the atmosphere in one word is: AWESOME!!! It's not just being a fan of the team, it's the passion!!! I hope you get back to Fenway many more times

A day game in june/july is my favorite, you walk through the tunnel, the suns out and you've never seen so much green ever.

@ Faithful -you can add me to the list, I love Manny, loved watching him hit, and he was to say the least entertaining.

Nice to see Papi stroke one out of the park yesterday, albeit against Northeastern.

After hitting 1 HR through May last year (May!), he ended up with 28 knocks ... going .251 20-63 in the second half of the season.

Do I think the .300 45-140 Big Papi days can come back? No. But, I'd settle for .275 35-100

It's also a contract year for him, so, there's certain motivation.

Looks like I'll be making three trips to Fenway this year. Got tix for the Saturday game against the Phils, got tix yesterday in the 2nd chance lottery for the Yanks the last Friday of the season and am awaiting when Monster tix go onsale.

Don't get me wrong, I hope PJ announces a tour soon, but one benefit of them not announcing anything yet is getting to plan some trips from Philly to Boston.

If anyone could help me out - is my best way to score some decent seats to the weekend series vs. Philly going to just be through StubHu b or ebay? Are they my best options? I know I'm going to have pay high, but I don't want it to be too ridiculous.

Seriously, treat it like you would a sold out PJ show.

If you got friends, use those angles ... otherwise, expect to pay, but be smart about it.

Yeah, I figured. I saw some on ebay that aren't terribly bad. I'll pay 125 per ticket, whatever.

I'm trying to find good Red Sox tickets for when they visit AT&T Park here in SF, and it's the same story.

Debating if I should wait it out longer or jump at a pair now for $100 each. :?

The most I've spent on Red Sox tickets @ Fenway were $247.00 each, and I bought 2, plus another $200.00 for the limo. I bought them the same day as the game, and Pedro was pitching... they won the World Series that year!!!

$100 to see the Red Sox, jimed?! That's practically free! I'd jump on those babies. Are you planning on making the cross country trip back this season to see them at The Fens? If no, I say gobble those babies up. And I say this in light of your recent comments regarding Oakland Alemeda County Coliseum.

Honestly if you don't mind risking not getting any you'd probably get a better deal b/w the T stop and the park, prices aren't awful right before game time, probably better then stubhub.

And I don't mean the email, dowloadable tix. I mean people making elaborate looking tix in their basement to sell.

Going to see the SOX play the CARDS on March 12th in Jupiter a nice B-day gift. Hopefully I'll get to see Dice-K pitch a few innings cause the Sox season will seem to hold together as long as the pitching holds up.

Nomar signs with the Red Sox ...

    ...

    ...

... a one day contract, so, he can retire as a memeber of the Red Sox organization.

After an initial 4 or 5 years where he looked like a Hall of Fame lock ... and still after 7 years, looking very strong, man ... he became frail fast.

I still think he was on the juice ... note, around 2003/2004 when testing became more previlent in baseball, he started having a lot more injuries.

But still ... loved the time when he was with the Sox, was totally shocked when the Sox traded him, yet, it helped the Sox win that 2004 Championship.

Good luke to Mr. Mia Hamm as he heads to ESPN.

I also think he was on the juice. I loved Nomar when he was in Boston but it was time for him to go in 2004. The Sox wouldn't have won the Series with him at shortstop. I'm glad they brought him back to retire with the Sox today though.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.
