Well you first would have to have a pitch thrown inside to the point of backing the batter off the plate. Then the batter would've reason to charge the mound to get a teams best pitcher out of the game. You can't just have a batter charge the mound just for the sake of it.
I do get your point though as to why Porcello got tossed especially if he didn't throw a punch, the pitcher therefore is at a certain disadvantage.

I guess that's what comes of reading online sources. It was some blog rundown I read somewhere. I stand corrected. Though I still disagree.
