Ok, it must be cool now.. Here is someones account of last night..

    Hi -
Just got back from the show and saw your message. No April Fool's trick. This is just a warm up for his solo tour. I am truly blessed to have been at this show. Small community center in West Seattle - just down the street from from Ed's place. I had bought the last of 50 tix sold at Easy Street (WS) and there were about 120+ people there. The other ES has some for sale and there were promo/label tickets also. It was billed as a 'Into The Wild Event' "wink, wink" - - 5 bucks! My friend who tipped me was already there in line with a few people. He secured a front row (folding chair) seats for a small group of us and they were serving beer. We were 5 feet away. After a while Ed came on stage for a one hour plus solo set. Opened with 'Walking The Cow' (love it) played accousic, electric, mandolin, electric uke and even banjo. 'Trouble' from Harold & Maude (Cat Stevens) and the closing song from that movie (the latter on banjo), Millworker (James Taylor), Around The Bend, I am Mine, Dead Man, No More, I Won't Back Down, songs from Into The Wild and closed with Bob Dylan's Forever Young. Killlllller poster for ('both') shows. Matt, the owner of Easy Street, even asked me if it made up for not being able to let me in when PJ played Easy Street (not even he could let me in / tight) and it of course did. No pix allowed and I doubt there will be a boot. I am somewhat friends with John, one of the sound guys (worked at Silver Platters) - he recorded it as they do all their shows. Ed is so cool! - He was wearing a Police T-shirt under his flannel, said he doesn't share his political views on stage (ha!) and said he was sorry for misleading us into thinking this was going to be a viewing of Into The Wild but not as bad as someone should feel about being misleading others into the Iraq war. (They did it to keep the show 'secret')

Lucky you. sounds like it was a fantastic night.
I wish he would do solo aussie shows as well

I'd really like to see the posters for both night. I hope someone posts a picture somewhere.

Yeah this poster will be in high demand...to say the least..

I wish the person who started this thread would get back to us with more from the setlist.. I'm sure they will when it's over.. I wouldn't miss a minute of a show like this..

  • I think all the ones in the know where told to keep it quite until Wednesday.
I guess it makes sense, if this broke out to everyone they would have had a lot of peeps at the door trying to get in...

Well Hail Hail the lucky ones in the know and this only gets me more excited about the show on April 2nd! less than a week now :D

Jeez. Well someone in the 'know' leaked it. I already read this earlier today on a myspace bulletin.

that was cool. i did not have a ticket...but i found out about it today. there were 14 of us standing around outside hoping to get in. the owner of easy street came out and said that they were at capacity...then asked if we wanted coffee while we hung out- it was pretty chilly and we were listening through the door- very cool. he said to hang out and maybe we could at least get a few posters after the show.

then...they let us in...about 5 songs into the show!!! ed was pretty funny...making snarky comments about the oscars, dave matthews, etc. he sounded good...but he needs to go over the lyrics a little more before the tour.

yay....FINALLY, i got to see a show in west seattle.

This isn't complete- I was taking notes on my cell phone from outside, then when we got in I wasn't about to even glance at my cell phone.

    The setlist from tonight:

    walkin' the cow
    i am mine
    dead man
    society
    no ceiling
i used to work in chicago
    far behind
    rise
    millworker

(outsiders were let in at this point)

    broken hearted
    you're true
    goodbye
    driftin' (with harmonica)
hide your love away (with harmonica)
    guarenteed
    picture in a frame
    i wont back down
    no more
    growin' up (dedicated to Matt)
    forever young

Thanks to Clayton, who tipped off Einat and got me and David and Lisa into the show. Animal and Robbie were also there. None of us were able to get tickets, but the good security guards & Easy Street folks brought us out coffee and tea (and even ran back for cream and sugar, and sugar substitutes!). And, then we were let in after all (no charge).

Everyone in the show was able to buy two posters. I haven't looked at them yet :)

    EDIT: forgot the opener (Trouble!)
EDIT: forgot Here's to the State
EDIT: found a more accurate setlist than mine, so replacing...

just got back from the show.... it was like sitting in someones living room. small...cozy...great vibe. we missed the first few songs because those of us that were unable to find tickets but able to find the place were let in late. they took good care of us while awaiting word outside...served us hot coffee and tea. :) once inside we stayed to the back which was still only like 30 feet from the stage. i didn't write down the setlist but i recall once we were inside ed played a couple of songs i've heard at other solo events but haven't been recorded, driftin', hide your love away, picture in a frame, guaranteed, forever young, no more...there were a few others, but i'm not really thinking clearly.

as far as a poster they did have one...same for both nights...it's a slate blue background with an image of ed with a guitar over his shoulder wearing easy street and an obama buttons...with a pack of cigs tucked in the band of a helmet he is wearing with a peace sign on it. it includes the mar 24th and 25th dates as well as the location of the show.

that's it for now...hope that gives a little info for those awaiting word.

    Growing Up

    Won't Back Down
    You're True
    No More
And, some `more hopeful' song, with a lyric about a newborn baby...
