Yea it was a nightmare that last time I drove there. I think I'll have to rely on ol' faithful, 7 train.

Watching the National League is like watching the minor leagues. :p

I guess the minor league beat the major league in the World Series then...

all philly sports teams are a joke. every year its the same ol' business..."this is our year...blah blah blah..." How many years has it been now since you guys were named the team to beat in the east??? 3...4...? get yourself ready for yet another disappointing year in philly. I swear, that whole city should be leveled.

Who gives a shit? Fuck this guy!! He says he's 37? More like 52...Last year he pulled something while walking and/or stretching on the field?

Omar will sign a few good pitchers, perhaps a big name or two before the all-star break...Don't worry, the Mets will be fine without this clown..

  • Sign? There's nobody left to sign. But it'll be ok. You have Chan Ho Park, Aaron Sele, and Jorge Sosa. Those guys are all good for 15 or so wins. Between them.

But there will be...Omar figured he'd take his chances, rely on the bullpen and sign a starter or two later in the season if need be...There is nothing worth it on the market right now..

  • Far be it from me to defend ARod, but let's take a look at the numbers here.
    In a down year, ARod hit .290, with 35 HR's and 121 RBI's, with 15 SB's. And The Golden Boy "broke out" hitting .311, with 26 HR's and 116 RBI's with 20 SB's.

    agreed.

perhaps now that he has cleared the air about him and Jeter , he will play even better then last year.

look at the lineup though, a-rod had much better protection then wright did. ill gave a-rod that hes a better hitter, but not a better deffensive player

If you have anything bad to say about David Wright, then you don't know baseball. It's that simple.

As for A-rod, I think he has a bad rap. Theres just something about him that makes you wanna see him fail.

I think they're very similar defensively. Both are capable of playing great defense, and both can make some pretty bad errors, both with the glove and the arm.

    Pelfrey is looking pretty good.

All the sudden the bullpen is a bit more of a concern. I expected more from Burgos, and Sanchez.

but fuck it 12 more days till we get it on and I'm fucking exited.

Strangely enough, that's how I've been feeling for a week or two now.

the Mets are going to take a backseat to the Braves this year.

Agreed. I think the only team we really have to worry about in the NL East is the Phillies, and after that the Marlins, but I think they won't be too rough. But not Atlanta.

yeah Phillies good hitting club also, but their pitching is not as deep as ours and the marlins i know nothing about so i have to take a closer look at their team........

You really think that? I'd take the Phillies staff over the Mets staff right now. The Mets have some serious issues with their starters, I would not feel very comfortable with that staff as it's built right now. I know they have a very good bullpen, but how good will they be later in the season if the starters can only go 5 innings or so? I'd take the depth of the Phillies staff right now with six starting pitchers (one guy into the bullpen), a solid bullpen and Flash.
