i love how the sox fans were so excited (rightfully so) winning the first 8 games. Then the yanks win 9 of the last 10!

Sweeping the Sox in the new stadium to clinch the division is so SWEET! :D

  • Anyone else a twins fan for the next few games? I have no problem really facing anyone at this point, but just love the idea of not having to face Verlander 2x. Twins win today, tonight play for 1st place

I definitely think so. It always scares me to see the yanks playing a team that hot but they have the Twins number.

anyone can beat anyone in the playoffs. doesn't make a difference who they play, the yanks just have to perform.

I know John Sterling says you can't predict baseball at least five times per broadcast, but I'm pretty sure you could have predicted the Yankees scoring two off Kyle Farnsworth, a key component of the bullpen arson squad....

So much sweeter that it was off Farnsworth.

it was hysterical, the whole crowd was chanting "Farnsworth Sucks" throughout the inning.

Well they fell short of my prediction. But the ultimate goal is coming up. And thanks to the Twins for tying up the division. And forcing the Tigers to pitch Verlander.

Go Alex. Another 30hr/100rbi season. And all he needed was 2 hr and 7rbis to get there. All in one inning. A record for him. And the Yankees broke their team HR record with 244.

Is Joba a definite for the bullpen in the playoffs or is it still up in the air?

Hard to believe this is the first time the Yanks have led the majors in HR since 1961. But then again Yankee Stadium really was a pitchers ballpark.

Most likely. They're going to go with 3 starters.

I'm loving this Tiger/Twins game. Both teams using a lot of players and energy. I think the Tigers want to lose. Mental mistakes.

don't look for Bruney on the playoff roster, the Yankees said him, Mitre and Pena were headed to Tampa to stay sharp just in case they're needed.

  • So yanks picking to start tmrw......silly question.
By picking this option did they select the longer (2 days off) series? With potential to face & throw the # 1 starter twice??

So we're facing the Twins. Even though a lot of us wanted them as opponents. I'm scared of the way they're playing as of late. They might not have better pitching. But the Yanks have looked foolish against nobodies at times.

I think the yanks were 7-0 against them.

I'm kind of scared too. I mean they are due right? Plus Momentium is on their side.

oh wait we have big Mo on our side though.

We just need the starters to pitch the way they can. This is why CC & AJ had the bank trucks back up to their houses in the offseason.

I'm nervous until they actually win the three games. I'm also nervous because not one prediction is going for the Twins.

    LET'S GO YANK-EES!!!!

No need to be nervous fellas. I don't care how hot the twins have been. Their bullpen is in shatters, their starting pitching is not all that great, Morneau is out and they have Carl Pavano.

    So pumped for tonight!!!

That would a lot of fun, kicking around Pavano in a game just like they did to Farnsworth last week.

It would be so great, especially at the stadium and watch him get booed off the mound.

Good luck with that. You should be more worried about the Angels and your capital C captian riding the pine or the merry go round that will take place if he catches.
