Somehow, I thought he was going to beat the odds. He was certainly a fighter and you certainly gave him all the love and care you could have. Everyone on our little group loves their dog(s) but you, Carol, may have loved Petey as much as anyone. There are no words....I know you're devastated
For now, I can only tell you I understand your pain and I send my best to you, your family and Monty.

I'm in shock. Like Rob, I somehow believed that Petey would defy the odds and live a long life.
Even though I only met him through your pictures and posts, I always had a special fondness for Petey, in the beginning because of my own boy Pete and later as I learned more about him. I saw him as a such a noble dog.
I hardly know what to say, Carol, but truly no one could have loved Petey more than you did. He had an amazing, full life, but too short.
My condolences to you and your family. RIP Petey. May your run free through the fields in Dog Heaven where you will never know pain again.
Like norm, i remember big petes first days. He grew up in here! We have a LOT of amazing doggies in here but that boy was exxxtra special for sure. Maybe cuz he was one of the first in here. I do love the fact though, that he was there to "train" monty into being the good one he is. As you know, there are never any right words in a time like this. However, we ALL are here for you just the way you have been for every single one of us that has lost our doggies. With an exxxtremely heavy heart, first post is.....edited. huge hugs, my friend.

R.I.P Petey. So sad. I haven't got the words Petey was part of the furniture around here. My girlfriend and I would always looks forward to the new lot of pictures of the next adventure.
