she runs to towards my door then spins and walks cautiously back towards the window with ears up at full attention... she's done this about 7 times already

Charley's doing the same sort of thing...only he jumps really high to grab them as they fly over him and he also knocks down anyone and anything in the way of his attempted fly catching...Ears at full attention...We try to push them down...but that makes him crazier! What is it with dogs and flies/bees?

i had to take him back because a roommate at the time had reheated a casserole and left it on the counter to cool....i'm sure you can see where this is going? i thought he should be given a break because his life before that was being tied up under a deck in someone's backyard and he was all bones. but he was having none of it and i had to take him back, otherwise i probably would've kept him. luckily he wasn't at the shelter 2 weeks before getting adopted by a family with a little girl.

I love that picture -- he looks like a bouncer! I wouldnt cross him!

As for delivery people... I work at home so I know my UPS driver well. He loves Chops - well... he works around him when we have a lot of stuff coming in or going out. Anyway... he told me a story once about how a few blocks away they have two dogs that they said wouldn't hurt a fly, etc. One day he went to deliver a package and a Sears Appliances person was rolling around in the yard. He found out one of the dogs bit him hard when he was installing something under their sink (dishwasher or oven or something)... he said it looked funny to see a guy rolling around... I guess he got bit on the backside. That's not funny, but at first he didn't know what it was. :)

So I guess no matter what people tell them, they have to be careful. You just never know... I had a mailman RUN back to their mailtruck, slam the door and back away from the window when Chops snuck out behind me. Hilarious!

lots of beautiful additions to the thread lately.

chloe is driving us NUTS lately. every night for about a week now, she just refuses to settle down and sleep. she sleeps under our bed - her choice, not us :P - and igby sleeps on our bed. chloe will sleep on our bed when no one is in it, or just 1 of us...but 2 of us, well, that's just too crwoded for her. so, she keeps getting up and walking around the bed, and she makes a lot of noise breathing, or licking, idk wtf she is doing, but it is driving me crazy! i tell her to go lie down and she does, but within a half hour or so, she does the same thing again. this has been going on 3-5x a night. she doesn't have to go outside, she hasn't had any accidents or gotten sick, she's eating, she's perfectly a-ok during the day, so i have NO clue wtf her problem is. i miss my sleep....

sure, it's warmer...but we have central a/c, so the house is quite comfy. granted, we don't have it on right now, only put it on once or twice, b/c it's just not that hot at all in the house yet. and i know she doesn't want to get off the bed, she does so begrudgingly when i come to bed  but she has never liked sleeping with us all in there, so idk wtf is her problem. except for the fact that it is becoming my problem.

mr. dream was thinking it's because she wants to go out and chase after a chipmunk living in our woodpile. (or at least he thought one was, and chloe was fascinated with the side of the garage). so, yesterday, cleaned up the side of the garage, no more woodpile! it did not help. she also likes to scope our below a few of our birdhouses, b/c sadly little baby birds fall out every spring, and chloe likes to nab em. she doesn't eat them, she just likes to hold onto/hoard them. but idk, we've always had the baby bird issues, and never been a problem in past years. i asked mr. dream to perhaps vacuum under the bed today and wash her cushion, maybe there's just something under the bed bugging her? (also a good way to get him to vacuum ;)). she also has a perfectly wonderful big dog bed in the guest room right next door to our room, where she spends the bulk of her day while we're at work b/c our bedroom and the LR are off-limits when we're not home. so if she wants some space/escape, she could easily go in there. but no, she just paces, breathes heavily, licks her chops, hahaha...idk how else to describe what she does. she also stares down hubby in bed, so that's disconcerting for him to say the least. :? so i have to firmly tell her "go lie down!" a few times each night now. it is crazy irritating, beyond sleep-disruptive. ugh.

Sounds like both of you are restless sleepers right now maybe just springtime. The licking though is classic allergy sign which can come on at anytime in their lives, doesn't have to be something new in their enviroment. Our Maddie who is almost 9 now has nights like that a few times a year. It seems to correct itself. Humans go through bad sleep periods maybe that's just what Maddie & Chole go through too, then you and me notice it cause we aren't sleeping as soundly as usual. Maybe its the stars ;)

I slept in and sammi decided to walk herself today.
We usually let her hang around outside on the front yard and driveway 'cause shes pretty well trained... but today my brother put her in the backyard and the side gate was opened. I got up pretty late and went outside and realised she wasn't in the house, backyard or front yard.

    What a stinker.
