I just got done putting a heating pad on my youngest's knee then stretching it. She tore her right ACL last March and had surgery. Though a Lab, she's built like a Shepherd and her left hip has full blown displaysia. She goes for hip surgery in March....have to keep that re-built knee in shape! They would both chase down a Frisbee in a second if I threw them...still the "F" word in my house.

Awww poor baby. Sounds like she is a real trooper though. Lab's usually are. They are so tough it is hard to tell when they are in pain.

She is a trooper...such a sweet personality too. She had been limping a little....just thought it was arthritis creeping up on her after years of Frisbee. She finally tore the ACL at the beach, just romping around. Broke my heart to find out she'd also been suffering with the hip.

My oldest is the quintessential goon of a Lab. About 3 days after Maggie's surgery, my oldest tore her left ACL - just running around like a spaz. She had torn her right ACL 2yrs before that. So I had two Labs in knee surgery re-hab at the same time. A week after surgeries, they had figured out they could put weight on their repaired knees and they were ready to play.....nuts.
believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.

Oh my god that is a horrible story. Isn't it amazing how they bounce back? Just goes to show ya, labs are the happiest creatures on earth. heartbounce.gif

The dogs were so frisky from running around in it. But I had a doctor's appointment so I didn't have time to take any pictures. When I got home the sun had come out and melted it all.

Gracie got her second round of chemo yesterday. Her Palladia dose has been inceased and the Prednisone has been DC'ed. Her cancer doc gave her an "A" on one blood panel and a "B+" on the other. That's my little star pupil!

I thought she was gonna be mellow last night but after a short nap, Gracie was up to her old tricks....rooting at her bed and humping my leg :wtf: . She's a funny ass dog.
