Pavano 2-0. I wasn't sure he should be brought up. Even last week wasn't that good. But today he piched better. Wonder why Joe didn't let him pitch the 7th?

got a 21 dolar ticket upper tiers for 5 bucks from a scalper..went to my 2nd game :)

thats wha we were saying up there too..his pitch count was real low but you know what? he might have a huge game coming up against TB next week so I dont blame Joe G for being cautious..he might be able to go 3 and o and get us a win!
    *keeps fingers crossed*

nice to hear the ownership say Girardis not to blame and pretty much safe to come back next yr. Looks like Cashman also...just as long as they stick to what Hank said and try to go the 90's route and bring in character players..not prima donnas and we'll be straight ;)

yea I know...we shouldn't even play the last 28 games, lol

seriously tho...lets say these guys do take 4 out of 6 from TB..just saying and all of a sudden theyre like what 5 back from the division lead? with still about 18 games left and a 4 game set with the Chisox and a season ending finale wth you guys

all I want is for that last series to be relevant and have wild card implications and I think we can get close enough to do that still

6 gb the WC with 28 left to go

its gonna be fun either way :)

    hahahahahh!
    thanx man

I'll tell you what..knowing how passionate we all are for the band I understand and respect the fact that you guys live and die with your teams ;) and all shit talking aside...same way I was kicking it with Blue Jays fans next to me and had a blast I'm sure when it comes down to it, it'd be the same way with people on here too.

bbut yea man..its hard for even me who ranks baseball somewhere around 3rd or 4th on my fav sports list to give up on the season yet. I know YOU want it to end right now and I dont blame ya..you dont want the yanks 2 games behind going into that last series..that would be nerve wracking for ALL of us! lol

how many mets fans do you think said the exact same thing to philles fans last year, only with 3 weeks less left to play in the season

didn't the rockies do it also or something similar?

yeah, they were ridiculous. i think they were 4 back with 5 to play, or something crazy like that. Their big problem was that they rolled thru the NL too fast, sweeping both series. They had to wait a record 8 days between the NLCS and the start of the WS. All Sox bashing aside, that hurt the Rockies in a big, big way. You see how baseball players, esp. pitchers are when they have 1 extra day off. The Rockies had to sit around for a week. Totally killed their momentum. You could see they were completely off in the first 2 games of the WS. it was like the Sox were in mid season form, and the Rockies had just shown up for the first day of Spring Training.

because he loses his trade value if he gets injured.

they still have about 24 hours to pull off that miracle...

Thats right! ok, yea..now I remember on espn and the papers all saying that

so if we trade Pavano who takes his place against TB next week in the rotation? Joba's going to the bullpen so it won't be him

it would probably be alfredo aceves, who was called up two days ago. hughes and kennedy are always possibilities. chase wright is pitching well at AAA. hideki irabu is probably available if he makes bail. whitey ford is still alive...

i don't know... but what i do know is that carl pavano needs to stay healthy for four whole days in order to make his next start. that's asking a lot.

if he pitches like he did yest and we can actually score more than 2 runs for him then maybe we can beat TB

  • Remember, pavano is auditioning for his next contract. I expect good things, and a major injury come Spring training 2009. Stranger things have happened with guys in their walk years. In 2007, ARod was able to hit in the clutch

You heard it here first. Now, i have to go ice my shoulder. I think I pulled something patting myself on the back

more offense? that's easy... sign barry bonds. ;)

Hey can't complain yet..I liked what I saw yest and like I said I think Joe G knows what he's doing. I thought pulling him that early was strange too, but watch..he'll go longer against TB and perhaps give us another 3 hit outing for 7 innings
    let's see
good call tho, no doubt! lol..now go ice that shoulder so you can keep posting

ugh no way..we can't do that. It wont sit well with me or many yankee fans. It'll be another A-rod move..why bring more poison to the locker room?

your post could have just as easily been about carl pavano...

you know what the difference is between bonds and pavano?

bonds has friends on the yankees.

giambi, for sure... going back to their BALCO days together (kinda like clemens and pettitte).

jeter has been seen joking around with bonds at all-star games (and i believe he defended him when asked about it), and i remember bonds saying that he was rooting for a-rod to break his record.

it's irrelevant though... i want to see bonds in the lineup about as much as i want to see pavano make his next start.

i'm not a big fan of a lot of things right now.

a-rod should have bunted right there... maybe he could have avoided his 11th double play of the month.

I thought about that. He probably doesn't know how, like Damon.
