  • Arod---One 9th inning RBI this year. That's your #1 Non injury reason as to why this team is where it is
  • Someone said it earlier...
No heart man. No heart. & never thought I'd say it...but Jeter too.
Girardi to me is the only guy who looks determined to win. The only guy who's blood boils when they suck (aside from us).

I know the injuries have just been ridiculous....but lets face it this team has been celebrities in pinstripes for the past few years. NOT a ball club.
    This year being the pinnacle.

Man I was so happy that trade to Boston for him didn't happen cause that is just TOOOO much money to be ppaying one player who's NOT the games most dominate pitcher.

Then the Red Sox would have deal with the fiasco of resigning this guy, what a burden he must be so far. If he can win a championship for the NYY though AALLL that shit will out the window in a heartbeat .

  • I was ecstatic when he opted out, given the comments from Cashman and Hank about there was no way he'd come back if he opted out. If only they (Hank, really) had meant it.

Heard Girardi say on WFAN that 90 was the number, which means that the Yankees will have to go 26-14 the rest of the way.

Good move on Melky Cabrera for now, not that Brett Gardner is any better.

Wakefield? Seriously? Colon? C'mon. And what did Matsuzaka miss? 2 weeks? The Yankees have lost 4 starters for extended periods. 2 of their top bats for the year. They started their projected lineup all of 2 times the entire season
    so papi is a slouch

and i have yet to see you respond to the rays who are missing 4 key guys and still winning

3 runs at home against the royals. this game is bullshit, it shouldn't even be close.
what entitlement have the yankees earned? because the royals are traditionally bad?

its why the games are played.

  • I love you Boston fans/Yankee haters. So predictable. You're a bunch pf pathetic cockroaches. Where were you when the Yankees took the first 2/3 against Boston in Fenway, 1-0 and 10-3? When Joba showed Beckett how to pitch. You hid, like the bunch of frontrunners you are. You were afraid The Boston Massacre was happening for a 4th time. Now, when the Yanks hit a rough patch, you're front and center thumping your chest. Notice how when the Yankees lose there is as much, if not more, discussion here then when they win? Take a lesson, like that overrated hack beckett should have when watching Joba pitch. You're pathetic, and you're embarrassing yourselves.

First off I'm a Boston Red Sox fan who happens to to Dis-like the Yankees. Maybe because I once lived in Brooklyn for awhile but I find it very hard to hate any basebll team even the Yankees. Hate is such a strong word and such never be used to descibe sports teams however many do. I respect the Yankees very much as they're the Red Sox arch rival and main nemisis. I hope they continue to lose so I can get a ticket to go and see a game at the famed Yankee Stadium before they move to the new place. I'll of course wear my RedSox hat the faded blue one from Spring Training 2007.

As for the Boston Red Sox thread & rough patch by the Sox, I wondered the same thing also where were all the Sox posters? I was out of town either in Vegas or on my Cruise and away from my computer for at least 19 days. Many times I find myself posting to myself. This Yankees thread keeps going win or lose, whether they play badly or not. You gotta like that.

oh you mean that post season menace known as choker joba? lets compare his record and becketts when it counts in the postseason, shit beckett has owned the yanks in the postseason, you remember 2003 right?. I keep forgetting its the little regular season moral victories the yanks have been chest bumping about.
You were afraid The Boston Massacre was happening for a 4th time.
we don't live in the past. Which is all the yankees have to fucking cling to!

Gee i dont remember Beckett being demoted back to the bullpen (which is about to happen to chubbs chamberlain) How can you say overated? he is lights out when the sox need a win.
You're pathetic, and you're embarrassing yourselves.
im pretty sure 1.1 billion dollars over 8 years and no rings to show for it is pretty embarrassing. Oh and frontrunners? when you find your brain, point out the days the yanks were in front the sox, this year. hell last year. Hellfish =clownshoes.

Joba is not being demoted. He got injured and is working his way back. If he's put back in the bullpen. It's not for not pitching well as a starter.

red sox fans act like theyre actually going to win something this yr...please

my cousin who knows nothing about sports said it best, when I tried to talk Yankees red sox rivalries with him ( a neutral p.o.v ):

"Boston always seems to have this inferirority complex with you guys..Ive never heard the Yankees care so much on games or even at the games I went to the point where they have RED SOX SUCK chants..but they on the other hand always seem to focus all their attention to hating you all and always have YANKEES SUCK chants"

"ya I know I told him cause they never WON shit, they only have like...what 3 world series? and they never GONNA win shit again" Theyre ALWAYS gonna hate and care more about wat we do than how they do...its weird isnt it? kinda like the black/white thing..theyre the minority, lmao

how can I say overrated? By looking at the numbers. 11-8 3.92 ERA. 5.02 ERA in 2006. Let me know when Joba pitches to a 5.02 ERA. But hey, Joba threw almost 4 innings of postseason ball. He must be a choker. Except his ERA is less than the 5.02 Beckett threw over a whole season. And if Joba is so overrated, how come Youkilis wets his pants every time he stands in against him? Or Manny begs out of the lineup with a fakke knee injury? Oh, that's right. You probably hate Manny now. You defended him like he was a 1st class guy for 8 years, what happened? Typical frontrunner.

how could I forget. 6 pennants in 8 years, 4 WS championships. Thanks for reminding me that you're halfway there in terms of WS, and 1/3rd of the way there in terms of pennants. At least in terms of the last 13 years. When it comes to the last 100 years, I'm not that good with fractions, to divide 26 by 3

based on 4 good years, and a steroid quasi admission? Not likely. The hard proof will come out soon (in addition to the body breaking down proof we're already seeing)

As for Beckett, way to have the same ERA and less wins than Kyle Lohse

bro, thank god its not the other way aroound, with them having 26 championships!
can you imagine another cocky boston team like the Pats?? oh man. we would never hear the end of it...Thank God Eli came thru and the G-men to smack that stupid cockiness off their faces .....now if we can win one or 2 more then the Pats can live in the past and ..oh wait..my bad
    they actually cheated. nvm

well said. I have no problem with a Sox fan who wants to come in here an d talk baseball. And I would put up with a Sox fan who came in here and tried to gloat, as long as he wasn't MIA when things aren't going his way. It's that guy, Tommy Toughnuts, the Fenway Frontrunner, who's been a diehard Sox fan since 2003, that I have absolutely no respect for. The last weekend of July just proved that most Sox fans are frontrunners. Today's display just further proved that.
