Quickly making our way back to 500 and into 2009, as Rasner gives up a 3 run shot to Young. His second 3 run shot in a few hours.

Now the Mr. Hank has brought up 2009, my thoughts are....
-either damon or matsui has to go (how many more yrs does matsui have? i know damon has 1 more). I vote see ya matsui we have nady
-rasner gotta go
-we already know pavano, giambi, pettite,maybe mussina, maybe abreu will be gone
-Melky has to either be outfielder #4 or go back to aaa to tighten up. This should happen now not next year
-Cano needs to get his head out of his ass and start realizing he's now a paid ballplayer on the NYY. He continues to struggle.
-Same can hold true for Hughes. Just needs to stay healthy
-get CC maybe? Maybe Texiera???

I give Girardi so much credit for keeping the team somewhat afloat with the absurd amount of injuries. But Girardi needs a Girardi team not a Cashman/Torre team which is what he has now. Many times it seems Girardi is the only one with heart. Bring back O'Neil we need someone to throw a water cooler for Gods sake.

TB's 12 of the next 15 games is agianst the Sox and Yankees. No Crawford 6-8 weeks and Longoria who knows how long. We sweep or take 2 out of 3 from TB and same with Boston its back in the mix...seasons far from over

hey we havent made the playoffs how many yrs now by just being lucky..and like I said b4..mets lost out on the last day of the season so...and that was 14 games that Philly was behind..we're only 8 as of now.
We could be back to 4 or 5 by next week

OR 10-12..but thats not gonna happen

the playoff streak will continue

we'll talk after sept 4. after that yanks rays series and see where we are by then. We have beatable teams coming up in the next 3 series, then the red sox, jays again and tigers leading up that Rays series

oh and BUH bye Troy Percival

thats 3 down for them..maybe the injuries will even out for both teams and then we'll see whats up

oh, and it looks like they totally wasted a 1st round pick,m as gerritt Cole is steadfast about going to college. Could be a negotiating ploy, as Boras is his agent, but i read that Cole won't even look at any offer the team makes

funny how injuries have affected the sox and rays (papi,wakefield, Dice-k, lowell, colon) but wait for it, both teams are overcoming.

It had to be done. Melky was just killing them. He needed this too. Maybe this will spark him to prove he is a true MLB centerfielder because as good as he is catching and throwing he was showing to be a 4th outfielder. Not even great speed that a CF needs. Never made a productive out either. Hopefully Cano can handle his butt buddy being gone.

yea word...like I said b4..add Chien Man back in and thats another 15-19 wins that make a WHOLE lot of a difference in the standings.

More than the Red SOx fans, and Rays fans and all the yankee haters I just want us to pull this off to shut our fucking media up...I cant wait to see how they switch it around if we sneak in.."Oh this team has heart, and this and that, blah blah"
Meanwhile as of yesterday the whole NY media declared them dead with tombstones on the front page and all that...corny..theyre the BIGGEST bandwagon jumpers of em all

NEW YORK (AP)—The New York Yankees have fired two scouts under investigation in a probe of possible skimming from contracts with Latin American players, The Associated Press has learned.

The Yankees terminated the contracts of Carlos Rios, their director of Latin American scouting, and Ramon Valdivia, their Dominican Republic scouting director, a baseball official said Friday. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because no announcement had been made.

The two, who had been on leave, were terminated Thursday, the official said.

They were accused of skimming six figures from the deals, a second baseball official said, also speaking on condition of anonymity because no announcements had been made.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman declined comment.

Major League Baseball has been investigating alleged skimming involving Latin American operations for months.

In May, the Chicago White Sox fired director of player personnel David Wilder along with two scouts in the club’s Latin American operations following the start of MLB’s probe. The team said the pair had violated club policy but did not go into details. The White Sox also said findings from baseball’s investigation had been given to federal authorities.

The Boston Red Sox later fired Pablo Lantigua, their Dominican scouting supervisor, also saying he violated team policy.
