    That's the way baseball is now. It's ok to hit someone, or start shit, but if the other team retaliates, they get tossed. It's bullshit. That's why guys like Manny Ramirez and Pedro get away with the shit they do. Years ago, If manny pulled his self-admiration bulllshit, the next guy up gets one between the numbers. And he's not pissed at the pitcher, who did what he had to do, he's pissed at Manny for forcing the pitcher's hand. Same with Pedro. one day he sent the Yankees's firts 2 hitters to the ER, but the Yankees knew if one of their pitchers plunked someone they would get tossed. It's bulshit.

    But how many times does one get ejected for a hard slide. And the pitch to Evan Longoria hardly touched him. As far as I've heard. I haven't seen the video yet. Either way Yanks/Rays games won't be boring now. And I'm glad the Yanks aren't gonna take crap from other teams.

    he was thrown out for attempt to injure

    he deliberatly dove so that his leg was in the air when he hit second base and it would go directly into the fielder's mid-section with his spikes up

    he did this last year against Toronto

    that's dirty and he should get a ball under the chin for that

    to say that that is commendable is ridiculous

    yeah, that's how i feel too. but of course ESPN wants to talk about what a dirty play it was and about how it isn't representative of the "yankee way." what a load of bullshit! what the fuck is the yankee way? not retaliating? ever? like the way they did things for 12 years under joe torre? fuck that! everyone just expects the yankees to lie down when they get fucked with. not anymore...

    I didn't see the play yet but I'm guessing it's in retaliation for the guy on the Rays that broke the Yankee catching prospect's wrist?

    there's this kid whose career might be over now (joe maddon seemed to think it was funny at the time) and now all anyone wants to talk about is the retaliation. retaliation is a part of the game. always has been.

    agreed. i wish i had bought some yanks/rays tickets when they went on sale. they're gonna be hard to get now. who would have thought?
