    great game, it looks like bobby abreu is going to go on another tear again, he didn't seem to be moving in the batter's box as much as he had in the previous few games, which he tends to do when he slumps. great game all around and Joe was smart to not use Joba here, although why he used Vizcaino there is a head scratcher.

    I haven't looked at the free agent market to see who the available right fielders are. I'd be inclined to say they do. That being said, this could also could be one of those years where he knows he might be a free agent and is putting up these type of numbers in hopes of a big payday, but also he really seems to enjoy playing here.     I think he likes it in NYC because he's not the center of attention. He hated it in Philly where he was the center of attention and drew the ire of many angry sports talk callers and was booed for his let's just say less than stellar defense.

    I think he's a good player in the right situation, but not sure he's worth a 16 million dollar team option. Then again money is not an issue for the Yanks.

    I just looked at some of the other free agent outfielders and here are my assessments:

    Adam Dunn - all or nothing, either homers or strikeouts kind of like rob deer with a little better average

    Jose Guillen - not a terrible hitter, past reputation might hurt him although he appears to be a little bit of a leader this year

    Geoff Jenkins - not a bad hitter when healthy. seems to be hurt a lot

    Trot Nixon - having a terrible year, hard to pick him over abreu

    Shawn Green - clearly on the downside

    so given those main options of right fielders, i'd bring back abreu. of course they also could go the torii hunter or andruw jones route and move cabrera to right field, but i don't see that happening.

    well couldn't we theoretically say, this is the biggest game of the season every night. but this a bit more bigger than the previous ones, but friday will be bigger than tonight because if they win they go two up and the last thing they want to do is lose a series in kansas city, which is not bad by what they've usually been in recent years.

    you know what I love DJ and all, but come on, do you REALLY believe he drives that Orange Ford thing he keeps promoting? Come on now. Does he even have a car? He doesn't need one in the city! He must get driven around in an Escalade or something.

    They don't have to show that commercial every 5 seconds, its starting to annoy me.
