Yeah, I was listening to the post game interviews on WBBM and Rex was talking himself up bigtime! Then he went on and on about how he should have been the starter to begin with, etc.
It was pathetic!
I hope he does come in and kick ass, but you know if he does...we once again have another QB contro!
Rex is playing for a contract and Orton is signed for next year. I think Rex is gone no matter what. The better he plays the more $ he can get. I hope he does great too. We need it. 2 tough games ahead of us.

Yeah, Rex is def. going to be gone no matter what.
What are the odds the Bears will try to pull a QB out of the draft during the off-season? They'd have to trade up big-time because IMO there aren't a lot of quality first rounders going to be hitting the draft this year. There are some good ones, but come the second round it's looking to be pretty ugly in the QB department.
I sure hope they do. Have Orton start next year, and the young guy in the wings for the following season.

Who knows with the Bears though...
No....sign a free agent QB. Develop Hanie...and start Orton next year.

Hanie? Really?
I don't know about that. I agree Orton should start next year, but I can't imagine Hanie being in their long-term plans.
If the Bears go after a free agent, you do you really think they'd be able to bring in? They had a chance this year to bring in a guy like Leftwich, they opted to sign Rex.
I dunno, I don't have a lot of faith in the organization when it comes to bringing in real talent.
Oh, I was representing in 'patrickredeyes' nonsense thread about the Bears sucking against the Packers.
Thanks for the "back" LikeAnOcean! LOL
I kid of course!
Like they say...a win is a win. And that's all I can say about this one.
Like they say...a win is a win. And that's all I can say about this one.
as a bears fan i'd love to celebrate such a dramatic win vs. the rams, but it was just three short weeks ago the bears dribbled down their leg vs. the winless lions.
win in MN and i'll get some playoff fevor. lose...and well, it'll be what bears fans expected.
The stupid Packers lost today (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Again!!!) so a win tonight will begin to separate us from the other crappy teams in the NFC north.
I'm hoping they can contain Peterson because if starts off hot, it may be a loooong game.

Go Vikings!!
"I was born, and I know that I'll die...the in-between is mine."
I was glad that they went for it on 4th down. Not sure about going up the middle again though.
Why the rookie fullback on 3rd down? Was that his first career play?
Berrian dropped those passes when he was with us.
The entire game turned around at that goal line. It was all downhill from there. I am sick to my stomach today.
Turner has gone back down the tubes after having a strong start to the season. How about a little creativity on the goal line?? Running up the middle into the strength of the vikings D 3 plays in a row?? And one with your emergency fullback who was just activated the day before the game??
I was at the game Pat and was extremely sick to my stomach. The Metrodome is the biggest shithole I have ever been in. You can't even move in the concourses. It is ridiculous.

Tuner coached him at Illinois so maybe he was pushing a guy he had confidence in at the college level. I agree that he had started off good but as of late I am not too sure. Orton looked off to me also. 1 of his INTs was underthrown big time.

Oh yeah, this wasnt totally on the coaches. Orton had by far his worst game of the year and I'm not sure what the hell Tillman was doing on that 99 yd TD to Berrian. That's a rookie mistake, not a mistake a highly paid veteran like himself should be making. After that play, the game was over. So that's two games Tillman has cost the Bears this year. Let's not forget his brilliant personal foul on 3rd down against Tampa Bay.

I think Orton has too much confidence in his receivers and the receivers have too much confidence in Orton.
Orton should know that just because a play is called doesn't mean the WRs will run the right route, or make the right cuts, or even catch the ball. LOL You know, like other teams do.
And the receivers should know that Kyle doesn't exactly have the strongest arm in the world and that there is a good chance of him shorting it if it's over a 15 yard route.
Now that you see Philly and AZ in the championship I tend to believe Lovie when he says we are close. These 2 teams have gotten hot at the right time. I thought AZ looked horrible at the end of the season and now they are on fire. Carolina nows how we felt when Steve Smith torched us. Fitzgerald could not be stopped.

Ugh. You had to bring up that game? Sexy Rexy threw like 42 passes that game...after not starting the whole friggin year. Smith did burn us though, man. I was glad to see them go. Cocky little midget.
I never thought I'd say this, but I think the Bears should go after Jay Cutler.
-Orton is a below average pro QB who has a weak arm and can't throw farther than 15 yards. Career backup.
-The Bears won't have a chance in landing a quality QB in the draft unless they trade up, and even then this year looks to be on the weak side for QBs. They should be focused on other key positions in the draft anyways.
-Cutler doesn't appear to want to play in Denver and he's 25 and a Pro Bowler.
I think they should go after him, though I'd hate to think of what they'd have to give up to get him.

i would give up half the team for a decent QB........wait...on second thought
other than Forte and Briggs........i would have no problem getting rid of the entire team....hehe
Take me piece by piece..... Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....

I just really hope they don't settle with Orton. The way I see it, if they want to get a "quality" QB they are going to have to spend. They are either going to have to trade up in the draft, or trade for a guy like Cutler (which might include draft picks).
Hester would have had an amazing season if he had someone to throw it beyond 10 yards. How many times did he blow by someone last year, Orton unloads and misses the spot by about 12 yards.
That threat alone would open up the running game as well. Well...assuming we get some young talent on the O-line.

You actually think Angelo would trade up? If anything, he would just trade down like he always has. I'm so sick of the Bears and the way they do things. It's getting real old. What's the big free agent splash??? Some career backup OL who has started one game in 4 years who they give a $5.5 mill signing bonus. Maybe he will pan out, but I'd still like to see them go out and spend some $. I know I won't be wasting as much $ on tickets as I did last season, thats for sure. I love the Bears, but part of me wants them to struggle again this season so they can clean house and get Lovie and Angelo out of there. But of course deep down I really want them to win.

Nice try Rex, but nobody grows a neckbeard like Orton!
Hands down, he's been the MVP of my FF team.

The Bears did what they needed to do. They dominated a shitty team. Hopefully this will give them some much needed confidence going into Minnesota.
I'm road trippin to Minneapolis with some friends for the game this weekend. Cant wait. Should be a great time.

I agree!
They also need to fire the O and D coordinators!
Goddammit that was pathetic!
I kept yelling "KICK THE FIELD GOAL!!!!" on 4th and 1. Nope! Fuckers!
Hmmm...let's run the ball right up the middle. Where nobody, including ourselves have been successful, all year!
Fuckin' Bears!
