    Hahaha....is Childress that bad?

What a fucking mess yesterday was. The Bears had no business winning that game, but they still blew it, if that makes any sense. To take the lead with 11 seconds left and lose the game is completely unacceptable. Why they didn't kick the ball deep is still a mystery to me. How Bob Babich is a defensive coordinator in the NFL is also a mystery to me. How about putting a little pressure on a rookie QB? They played like such pussies yesterday. This team should be at least 5-1, possibly 6-0. I have a feeling this is going to be happening all season.

Yes. Please destroy us next week. We have had no business winning the last two games. The last game against Detroit was just shameful.

I just don't get why we hired a guy as an offensive "guru" yet he didn't call the plays as offensive coordinator of the Eagles.

Yeah, it was pathetic. Babich is terrible! What, was Ryan hurried what? Twice the entire game? Dumb! They should have sent Urlacher and Briggs after him a lot more than they did. Dumb!
Oh, and I'm well past the idea of the bunch defense. It's clearly not working on anyone. Having a guy come up to blitz or fake is one thing, but when your OLB is getting smoked on short slants over and over again, maybe you should have him start in a more set postion.
They keep this up, every team and every QB will be taking two step drops and feeding slant routes for 7-8 yard gains all year.
Is it me or has Mike Brown lost a step or two? Granted, he's been healthy so far (CRAZY!!) but it seems like he's always getting there late, or behind on coverage, or slow to cover a run...which he used to be one of the best at.

We need Vasher and Tillman (anyone heard anything on him) back ASAP.

No way man, Brown hasn't lost a step or two. He's lost more than that. He looks really slow and really old out there. Understandable with all the injuries, and he's still better than most of the other guys they'd replace him with. That last play, I know he wasn't covering that WR, and I understand momentum with the WR and him forcing him out of bounds......But how about just grabbing onto him in bounds? Just for a split second and the clock would have run out.

That said, it should have never gotten to that. I understand why they did the squib after the 85yrd return, but comon, there was 11 seconds left. Put a safety back on the 20 and let him wait for the open field tackle. If it got returned anywhere close to FG range the clock would have run out.

Orton played well, again. But the defense was pathetic. They must have concentrated all week on stopping Michael Turner, just figuring Matt Ryan would make a mistake. But once again, just like the Tampa game, absolutely zero fucking pressure on the QB. Its embarrassing, especially against a rookie. The one time they blitzed Briggs, Ryan almost threw an interception to Mike Brown. who by the way, had 6 written all over it.

And a big FU to Tommie Harris, recoving the fumble and then ....WTF was that!

Definitely echo the thoughts of "could/should" be 6-0, 5-1. Thats 3 really tough last minute losses. But I guess at least with the Falcons, they out played us all game. With the Panthers and Bucs, we dominated them in the 1st half, and just couldn't make the adjustments needed to stop them in the 2nd half.

PS to YIH, Childress always reminded me of that dude from Evening Shade.

If we win though, he should stay. :)

I really hope we can help you out with that. I had no idea that people in Minnesota were so anti-Childress. But, a coach who named Tarvaris Jackson the opening game starter can't know exactly what he's doing.

He has like a 6% approval rating on that ESPN Coach Approval Poll.

He also decided to just kick the PAT when they were down 10-8. Brilliant.

HA. 6% is bad. I heard about that extra point fiasco, that was an interesting move. There's gotta be something wrong when you're only putting up 12 points at home against the Lions, who are just terrible.

The game winning FG was also set up nicely by a phantom pass interference call on Detroit. We should really be 1-5. Thanks refs!

I cant beleive all of these vikings fans hoping that they lose. It is a 3 way tie for first place. I never cheer for my teams to lose even when it makes sense to get a good draft pick. I hate to lose. You Viking fans shoudl be ashamed of yourselves.

Some of what I have said has been tongue in cheek. Of course I want our team to win. But if we lose, I want us to get blown out so our owner can realize what a complete joke Childress is so he can remove him ASAP.

Funny thing is, as pathetic as our coach is, he still found a way to sweep the Bears last year. LOLzzz!

    Vikes 21

If we can't beat Gus Frerotte at home, we have some major issues. Let's hope we can actually close a game out this week. I don't know how many more of these heartbreaking losses I can take.

That RB you have is pretty good. We held down Turner last week so I hope we have that success with AP this week. He shoudl get 100 and 1 td at least.

    48 points!?!?!?!?!?

What a performance by the offense and special teams. Too bad we can't say the same thing for the defense. I know the D is banged up, but we cant' be giving up 41 points to Gus Frerotte and the Vikings at home. The bye week is coming at a good time so some guys can get healthy and then we have the lowly Lions to feast on after that.

By the way, have the Bears actually found a QB for the forseeable future?

    The D is horrible!!!

I wanted to kick my TV when the Bears ran that end around on 3rd and long at the end of the game. 1 first down would have clinched the game for us and we choose to run a play that was obviosly called to run time off of the clock and put our Defense back on the field. Big sack by Harris at the perfect time. I was expecting another last minute loss the way the vikes were moving the ball on us. That sack made Ferotte rush that next pass that turned into an INT.

I am starting to really enjoy Orton play but cant get over the poor Defense we have been playing. That is supposed to the area we excel in.

Well lets not get too ahead of ourselves. He didn't look to good against Carolina Tampa or Philly. And then he torches the Lions, Falcons and Vikings, not exactly stellar defenses he was going up against lately. On the flipside, he has been far more consistent than Grossman ever has been. Even when Orton doesn't look good, his qb rating is still at leats 70. He isn't putting up those 2.4 games that Grossman was known for.

Thank God for Matt Forte otherwise my FF team would suck badly.
I'm barely winning my match ups and so far only Forte who has been consistant.

Eagles' DeSean Jackson and Texans' Slaton are other rookies I'm proud of on my FF team.

    He's baaaaaaaaaaaaack.

    ;)

Sucks that Orton went down, but what sucks more is the Bears f'n defense!! God they look terrible. Way to make a crappy no-named QB look like a hall of famer!

Anyone hear any news on how long Orton could be out?
  • It appears that Orton's injury isn't too bad. I heard that Orton himslef told Turner that he thinks he'll be okay which means it's not season ending. He'll get an MRI tomorrow and that should tell us the extent of the ankle injury. Hopefully if he missess time it's not more than 2-4 weeks.

I'm praying that somehow, someway Orton can make it out for next weekend's game against the Titans.

The last thing I want to see is Rexy vs. Tennessee's D.

At least we're in first place now with 3 division win. That's huge.

  • Early reports are a high ankle sprain, which probably sidelines him til after Thanksgiving.

    Holy crap!

A rusty Rex against an undefeated team with a great defense?!??!?!?! Oh god! A non-rusty Rex would scare me, as would an Orton or two, but we are f'n screwed!!!

Rusty Rex + Shitty Bears D + Awesome Titans D = Bad news!

I haven't predicted the Bears losing in our little online PJ-board game ever in the last two years or so...and I won't do it now (mostly out of pride, but really out of ignorance).

Something tells me da Titans are going down..

Sexy Rexy will bring his game for once along with Hurricane Ditka..

Bears are a physical team and its in their favor when they are expected to loose.

I hope you are right. Rex did not look to good and I already am sick of hearing his interviews. He said he got the job done yesterday. We did win so he is half right. The O line and Forte is the reason we won the game.

Not sure if I have been this upset after a victory. Hopefully it was one of those games where we played down to the Lions level and next week we will play up to the Titans level.

    Bears are in first place!

Yeah, I was listening to the post game interviews on WBBM and Rex was talking himself up bigtime! Then he went on and on about how he should have been the starter to begin with, etc.
    It was pathetic!

I hope he does come in and kick ass, but you know if he does...we once again have another QB contro!
