holyFUCK! I had Forte on my bench :(....with that TD and the way he's running, he would have given me more points than LT and LJ combined.

  • HOLY SHIT! I'm shocked right now. To be honest, I had lost some faith in this team with their crappy offseason and preseason. But they dominated a top AFC team on the road on national TV, AWESOME. Forte looked great, Orton made some good throws and the D did their thing. Very impressed with their intensity and they made plays when they needed them. The offense even took the ball with 5 minutes left and ran the clock down, just wow. If they can improve on the pass blocking and Forte keeps it up, this offense could be a lot better than anyone expected.

i grew up on detroit sports, but since i live in chicago i may start rooting for the bears. i feel like this is a football town. detroit's a baseball town.

but mainly, i was happy to see it because i hate the colts. i loathe anything remotely related to indiana.
    and like that... he's gone.

  • knocked 26 people out of my suicide pool (out of 213). San Diego losing also knocked out a bunch. All told, 83 of the 213 have been knocked out

believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.

    I loved that game.

It looked like a different team than the preseason. Peyton looked a bit rusty but we ran the ball and stopped them from running. If we do that more often than not we should win our share of games for sure.

    I've got Forte Fever!!!!

Gotta admit, I love eating my words this morning. Team looked pretty damn good last night. Amazing the difference a decent running back makes, addition by subtraction (Cedric Benson).

I am happy with my 30 point prediction for the Bears now but thought the Colts would show up a little more.

    Glad they didn't!!

    BEAR DOWN!!

  • Also, props to Kyle Orton for doing what we needed him to do...not lose us the game. Came in and made a pass on third down with no turnovers. Please make this last!

ALSO! Much love for Ogun! He was amazing last night! SAFETY FTW!

I've never been happier to have been so wrong. What a game! I feel like for the first time in forever, we have a RB in Forte who has some pop and can make some plays. He showed how tough he is by coming right back in after taking a shot from Sanders. That pussy Benson would have been carried off on a stretcher after that hit.

    BEAR DOWN.
  • sick d, sweet rb, and a QB with a little skill. should be a decent year for Da bears.

I'd agree that Detroit is a baseball town (nothing like a summer around here when the Tigers are doing well), but this place is going to come unglued should the Lions ever make it to a Super Bowl...

Needless to say, I ain't holding my breath. :D
  • I found this pic on the Bears board, and it's so awesome, I though I'd share it:

    Pffft.

Right get back in the Jets thread. Speaking of drinking Koolaid, ESPN is having orgasms over Favre and the Jets when they BARELY squeaked by a 1-15 team from last season.

  • Yeah let's not get too excited after only one game, boys. That being said, this team surprised the shit out of me last night and anything can happen. If this defense can stay healthy they are tough to move... and I had no idea that we have that much talent on offense. Matt Forte, Brandon Lloyd, Greg Olsen, Desmond Clark, Devin Hester, Rashied Davis... we can win with these guys.

    fucking Olsen....singlehandedly lost the game

Pretty much. Btw, that was a stupid last call. Of all the people to get a first down and they give it to McKie? Holy crap!

Orton should have been picked off at least 2-3 times today too and he really should have been able to complete a couple of big ones that he didn't...but since he has the worst accuracy and a pretty weak arm I guess it's no surprise.
One thing I will say about Grossman, is that despite the boneheaded decisions he made he did have a pretty accurate and strong arm.
