We used to have casual friday's and management bitched. Then they took it away and employees bitched. Now we can wear jeans everyday, they gave up :)

Suits suck...they're for Weddings and Funerals.

    I don't trust people in suits....They're phoney...
I see someone in a suit they're usually trying to sell me something...insurance or god usually.

Suits are for the older generations...we don't need them anymore.

cool people only wear slacks when they reach the age of 67 and the roomy fit allows them to hide their colostomy bag easier.

i dress down everyday... i'd hate to wear slacks and suits to work... i truly would hate it

i work in hotels, and suits are a must because you are around guests, and they want you to have the "professional look." i hated that shit. luckily, the hotel i am at now, promotes a more casual attire, so i can get away with shirt/no tie, and casual pants.

i never said you did make the rules.. i was saying wearing slacks is for octogenarians... the outfit you described earlier made me think of Carlton Banks from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air :D

you're right... it's impossible to look your best everyday. but i don't know many companies that will fire you because you are having a bad hair day, or because your dress shirt isn't ironed to perfection.

if you like the job, you deal with the attire that they require you to wear. it's not the end of the world if they want you to wear a shirt and tie.

I've been to Italy a few times and never felt out of place. Sure quite a few of them are stunning... but they've just as many normal clothes as the rest of us... and I saw quite a FEW fashion disasters from people trying too hard

if you lose a $15 million deal, does it look worse if it happens on 'dress down day'???
I love to turn you on

but it's still stupid... it's like your boss saying 'dance boy dance'. If you're in an office where no clients or customers see you, it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

funny enough, no I'm not bothered... some of us aren't as shallow about appearances :)

I've never had anyone say anything to me. I don't mean I look homeless... jeans and a top are my general work attire. Which jeans and which top doesn't matter at all once the work gets done.

Men in suits look like they are about to choke. Women in formal work clothes look like they are about to fall over on their heels.

Bring on the blue jeans! It's the accessories that make the outfit anyway. You want to look smart - wear glasses! I knew that even when I was 7. You want to look like you have style, wear stylish accessories. Less formal colorful dresses get more attention than drab formal with the gold choke chains.

Formal work attire just seems so unnatural like a ruse humanity is playing.

do you ever somewhat agree with anyone? Or do you just like being difficult for the sake of it? You're debating what people should wear to work! For the record, you don't have to post in every single thread.

but refer to one of my earlier posts... i work in hotels and i am constantly around guests.

and it's not like saying 'dance boy dance.' it's a company setting standards, and if it's within boundaries, i have no problem with that.
