So this person, who is suppose to be the all loving, all sacraficing, savior of the world, would put his self on soapbox and declare himself the most important person in history? That's not very modest....is it?

    Yes i believe he would.

As already stated by others Jesus has Mohammad clearly beat in this area but its not really a popularity contest anyway. For a variety of reasons the "Christian" world is in a much stronger position than the "Islamic" world economically and military. Secularisation is surely part if not most of the reason, but perhaps the religions themselves carry some weight as well. There has to be a good reason why this has occured, leaving the Islamic world behind.

Have we lost our hope to sorrow?

    So what are we becoming?
    Where did we go wrong?

    yes perhaps you should of.
allah and mohammed are two distinctly different entities. it was to mohammed that allah revealed himself and his words. but it was a scribe that wrote them down as mohammed was apparently illiterate.

You forgot to include the word "allegedly" or the phrase " as the fairytale goes......"

We're not talking facts here. We're talking fiction.

and if i were under threat of litigation perhaps i would have used the word allegedly. but i'm not, so i won't. plus it is time consuming as i would have to apply it when speaking of christianity and all the other religions. i'm just saying how the story goes. whether it is fact or fiction is up to the reader.

    Christianity sure is convenient.

Yeah, more often than not, I really have to question their defintion of 'civilized'. ;)

Yup, but they are losing their grip! That's why they've come back so bloody hard with the "beauty myth" and "women can have it all" shit! Keep us busy waxing, dieting, cooking, working, mothering and crap so they can tighten their grip while we aren't watching...........................

No, it's a fact if it really happened and there was some kind of proof god came down and instructed some human beings to write this stuff. But there is no proof.

What's up to the reader is a matter of faith, not fact. Facts have no place in faith anf faith has no business in claiming facts.

That's case with all religions. Christianity, IMO , is a joke. Here's a religion where it's followers evoke the name of Jesus on a regular basis, but their actions, words and way of life completely defy the alleged words of Jesus.

They completely fly in the face of everything Jesus allegedly stood for and preached for.

Convenient if a generous and kind way to describe it.

Yeah, I know, but it seems to be part of the brainwashing of the masses now too. Just so they can get at anybody that can't be pulled into line with religion.

I agree that it's all religions, as well. I single out Christianity more often because the amount of hypocrisy surrounding it is unrivaled. Just like that thread a while back about supporting the war even though it goes completely against the commandment 'Thou shall not kill.'
