I see lots of things like this.. i just wondered if it's racism within itself.

why not just have a Prisoner Support group regardless of race, or a Operation Vote, just to encourage ALL people to vote.

The keyword in all of this is MINORITY...it's not racism. Minorities are mis-represented in almost every arena...political or otherwise. So they form groups to offset that. They're not leaving the rest of us out of anything by doing so. This isn't some double-standard thing. If someone started MOWO, there wouldn't be an uproar....people just wouldn't see the point in it, because it'd be retarded. Majorities don't need extra support. It'd be like perfectly healthy people forming a support group to talk about their health each week...it just makes no sense. But for people with diseases, it does make sense. I'm not saying being a minority is like having a disease, but the basis for the formation of each kind of group is the same....minorities are mis-represented, so they form exclusive groups like that to deal with it. It's not racism.

Thanks, I was due at least ONE post this year with which someone might agree with me Anyway, it's not racist, I don't think, on the part of black people to address the fact that racial minorities might need stimulation to vote in democratic elections in a society in which, by their nature, the might not feel adequately democratically represented. I don't know much about Operation Black Vote but I'm sure it has beneficial effects to an extent, and I know I, as a white person, don't feel slighted by its existence so why not?

As for calling it the MOAOs, that would just be that political correctness going mad that you guys are always going on about Besides, many African Americans, I'm sure, identify themselves as American, and the environment a musical genre is birthed from is very important, it's not just the people that make it. Hip-hop would therefore be an American genre, not an African one, but certainly one of black origin.

All I know is, I'm cool with it. To date, the only times I have ever felt racially discriminated against were in a jamaican takeaway and in a conversation with a Jewish alcoholic who was raving insanely about me being an aryan scumbag. Both times were too trivial for me to really give a toss. When they start calling it Music not of Cracker Origin Awards, then I'll be slightly concerned

so when "whites" become the minority in the United States (well on its way to happening), I can form groups which are directed to "whites"-only????

If i started W.E.T, had a few months of the year deemed "White Heritage" month... if i had a Car place that would help young white Americans like myself afford a vehicle, i might as well be wearing a white sheet and burning crosses. I'm Irish now living in the UK so am actually officially an 'ethnic minority' at the mo ... but, while I know my rights and will make sure I get them, I also know what's over the top and counter productive.
