The best move to peace in Iraq would be for America to support the Nationalization of Iraq's oil. It could even be short-term, like 10-20 years, just enough time for these folks get their shit together.

Of course, that aint going to happen with America in there, so here we taxpayers are throwing our money away for the benefit of a few dipshits. We're being robbed. The Iraqi people are being robbed.

So, to me, it's one or the other, nationlize the oil, or get the fuck out and let the Iraqis figure it out for themselves.

Exactly! If they really care about the welfare of the Iraqis, drop the bullshit and prove it. Until then it's only lip service to prolong the occupation.

You're not listening to anything I'm typing. I disagree with your assessment that funding more war will equal less war somehow for the Iraqi people.

you really aren't listening to anything I'm typing.

You disagree with my assessment that funding "more war will equal less war somehow for the Iraqi people." That's a bumper sticker slogan. Yes, that's exactly what i want....i sit here all day long salovating over funding of war.

I'm much more interested in reality. I don't give a damned about George Bush, or political motives. To actually TALK about this, if we were to leave today, a bloodbath would ensue. You can wish to ignore that fact if you'd like, but it WILL happen. It is what it is. I view the decision to pack up and go home now as a blatent disregard for human life. period.
And you ask me what I want this year
And I try to make this kind and clear
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days

I listened to your posts just fine. I think a peacekeeping force in place will keep Iraq from turning into a bloodbath. If you don't agree, fine. But quit acting as if your opinion is the only one worth having because it AIN'T. It's not a FACT, it's only your VIEW.

so what was the part that made him unelectable? he is short? he is a vegan? wtf???

he seems to be one of the veeeeery few politicians that isn't the usual crook/boldfaced liar...how can we complain about these things then have someone who doesn't pander to groups, says what he means and fights for it, actually has emotion generated by compassion for humanity rather than greed or helping out his campaign donors??

fuck that, i'd rather a short, vegan keebler elf in the white house as long as he was honest and actually cared rather than someone who likes steak and potatos or if he likes corn or how he likes his cheesesteak...i don't want to have a fuckin beer w/ the president, i want him to do the fucking job right

wait, wait, wait...he's not a real contender, but someone like obama is??? obama who is for 'freetrade' and pro globalization? obama who is against socialized medicine b/c of how it would affect ppl like kaiser permanente?? obama who voted against capping credit card interest rates at 30%? obama who voted to reauthorize the patriot act???? obama who doesn't think we should leave iraq until we "defeat the insurgency" and to keep some military there permanently??

  • We are dealing with the here and now. You need to think about how many human lives will be lost if we leave now. Do you realize the hundreds of thousands of lives that will be lost if we just pack up and leave? Does your hatred of W trump the literally thousands of hundreds of lives lost? This is my question to all people on the left....we have so many disagreements...but do you honestly understand the disasters that would occur if we leave?

It is hard to believe I am saying this, but the mess in Iraq after we leave will still be Bush's fault. Any soldier who dies now is just a number to be added to the list in the name of covering up the mistakes made by the administration. I don't fully blame the President for us going in, lots of people are part of this misguided war, but at the end of the day, it was his decision, his call, and in his own words he is accountable. It sucks, but that is reality.

The question is how many more Americans will die in the name of trying to produce 'victory' before the reality comes home. The sooner the better I say, cause our current path will not produce victory.

And yes, there will be bloodshed, it will be really bad, but it will always be Bush's fault cause he can't fix what he broke.

ppl voted the republicans out b/c they wanted a change in the war...so far all we really got is lip service while they approve any money bush asks for it. congress has the authority to do something about this. they could demand actual timetables, scale downs, switching to an actual coalition/ national peacekeepers...but they don't, they just say yes sir, but we'll approve it w/ a frown

just some more of the usual spineless crook pandering to what ppl want but not actually doing anything about it

are you honestly saying that the dems won control because of left-wing views? don't you remember grandma pelosi and dingy harry going into hiding during the campaign? and when people like me pointed this out, people here (not you ) said it didn't matter...just opposing the admin. was the important thing.

lots of people wnated a change..including me...and lots of other right wing whackos...we wanted to take the restrictions off the troops and fight to win, not to fight a political PC war.

ppl voted the republicans out b/c they suck when it comes to immigration and spending...and they wanted a change in the war....but to make the jump to say that 2/3rds want us to pull out is just another leap, and just another instance of the left not understanding simple principles of logic.

How do you know what people want? Polls? Polls are showing the war was a mistake and that people don't approve of deploying more troops last I checked.

not understanding the principles of logic or not having basic word comprehension?

    how does 'change' = 'withdrawl'???

what the polls say the ppl want is 2/3 DON'T want any more troops sent, MORE than 2/3 don't want anymore funding for new troops, over 1/2 think iraq is a hopeless situation, just under 2/3 want a timetable for withdrawl....

what's funniest, tho is the poll on what the us should do, btw, higher numbers mean more

increase number of troops - 26%
keep the same number - 17%
    decrease -23%
    remove all - 28%
    unsure - 6%

regardless of withdrawl or no withdrawl, ppl wanted change, the polls show they see it as a disaster AND they don't want to give it more money AND they don't want to give it more troops....well, what the fuck did this congress do? give bush more money and more troops

The only thing that will prove Kucinich is unelectable is if he isn't elected. If you want him to win, campaign for him, donate money to him, spread the word. Hell, if he makes it to the general, I'll vote for him.

Electable? We don't know yet. In 2008, we'll have our answer.

And he's married now? Hate to say it, but that'll help.
