First I am looking for the following and will pay reasonable cash:

Milwaukee Summerfest 07/08/1995 (not sure if poster exists)
    East Troy 06/26/98
    East Troy/Chicago 10/8/00
    Toronto 06/28/03
    Vote for Change 10/04
    Kitchener 9/11/05
Detroit 5/22/06 (Wondering if someone wants to unload a subscription poster)

I don't have anything to trade but will pay reasonable cash. If you sell to me you get two things:

    1. Knowing your selling to a collector not some prick flipper.
    2. The knowlege that you relieved a small amount of frustation I've suffered at all these venues of not getting a poster.

Now I have a ton of questions:
    1. When posters are sold on 10c, are the sales announced?

    2. When posters go on sale at Ames, is it the next morning? What time? (remember to include time zone for relevance) What is the price in the morning?

    3. I've read Klausen doesn't have a website. Any way to get posters from him besides ebay?

Thanks for all the help. May the karma gods give you speed to the merch tables at the next show.

    a) check your PMs

1 - typically yes... used to be right as the sale was going on... then it evolved to the day of the sale

    2 - i think it's 3 est? or 2? i forget - $65

    3 - nope

was anyone actaully able to purchase any ?

the secure server keeps coming up as " not available " so there can be no checkout.

so really the site is half up, or so it seems.

Doesn't art.com only frame prints you buy through them? I remember looking there before and thought that was the case. Maybe I'm wrong, though.

Hey, if anybody's interested, there is a great little discussion/debate over show posters at http://www.beadesigngroup.com//blog/archives/2006/06/gig_posters_were_we_invited_to.html#more.

No mention of Ames, but anyone can chime in. Even Kozik did.

bostonlou's work has been kicking ames' ass lately.

i'd totally sign up for the subset.

won't be long til these things show up on ebay, getting around 3 bills per print.

My only artistic constructive critique would be to add the MSG outline to that sketch and its a winner.

  • Definitely a bargain. Same thing from a framer (or Michael's) would be well over $100. Just make sure you're picking the acid-free mat as well. It didn't look like you had, but I could be wrong.
Also, I'd go with a different mat color. That one doesn't seem to match, and it may detract from the poster once it's all put together. I'd suggest trying to match that orange-yellow color. And with the frame, if you can find it in that plum, that would be killer. Esp. since purple and orange are complimentary colors. These are just my aesthetics, of course. My taste. But I really do suggest at least trying to get a better aqua.
    Good luck! :)
