the picture doesnt do it justice. i think its a really nice job but it took them a week longer than they said and I started to worry that I handed my 98 Boston (which just cracked $750 on ebay this week) to an 18 year old kid.
Ive actually been on this site many times and have put in all the dimensions of a poster I want to frame but i can never bring myself to order. Im too worried that I will fuck it up and ruin the poster.
I went to Michael's with a coupon for 50% off but they were already having a 48% off sale. They say the list price is like 400+ or somthing ridiculous.
Big Picture framing in Natick has 40% off everyday. What the fuck is that? If that is the everyday price then its not 40% off-its THE PRICE
those things annoy be the actual work has always been satisfactory

Ha! Don't you love marketing gimmicks that really save you no money at all, even when they look nice and juicy?

You really can't do anything to fuck it up when you do it yourself. They send you 4 sides of the frame. You use a flathead screwdriver to tighten the pieces together. Lay in the matt, the acrylic, the poster, and the foamcore. Then you put the clips on the back to keep it all tightly together, and you hang it on the wall. It's incredibly simple.

and this is another option for the brave ones out there- I personally wouldnt send my posters off anywhere and I prefer a more traditional , archival method of framing posters ( * this method utilizes a dry mount on wood ) :

You are absolutely right about the mattresses.
But seriously, why are you "afraid" of americanframe? I'd be much more afraid of leaving my poster in the hands of some stranger at a store who gets paid barely over minimum wage even WITH certification (and that's not to say everyone who frames at Michael's even has that certification). With americanframe, the poster never leaves your site. I just don't understand it.

Have you been happy with the framing that Michael's does? I've heard some bad stories.

and do you usually have a coupon for michaels?
i signed up at their website and have a 50% off the entire framing order... just wondering if you were using coupons?
thanks

Dry mounting a poster is no favor, many consider it a sin.
If you didn't request dry mounting I would be pissed.
