how would they do better financially? aren't the costs the same?

and the subscriptions are all in one swoop... less maintenance

and they have the money ahead of time... sure that's a small bit of interest earned but they could invest or somethin

Maybe they're over-charging for shipping and if they did each poster individually, they'd clean up! Heh.

    everyone overcharges

and if you think of it the subscription is the bigger money maker

if we don't get a huge ass package i plan on asking them why it was $50 to ship me 2 tubes at $5 each

    or was it more?

Yeah, $50?! That seems crazy to me. Of course, I didn't get the subscription so I don't know exactly what is arriving size-wise, but that seems crazy high regardless.

    its highway robbery.

$10 for two tubes, $40 for the lead used to sign and number the posters.

    not so suite afterall.

    :(

and by the way, could Ames possibly be reconsidering the poster subscriptions at this point ?

Maybe they are thinking they'll do better financially selling each poster one by one, after the shows, thru the horrible website ?
Its kinda last minute and I've yet to receive any e-mail notification concerning a sub set for Leg 2 ( or 3 ) .

    WTF ! ?

Do they automatically give those who got Leg 1 first dibs on Leg 2/3?

  • Hey I just finished framing NJ2 and I'm happy but not thrilled I was stupid and I forgot to really measure the poster before ordering the mat from American Frame. Now there is a small little gap inbetween the poster and mat :( I'm thinking about bringing it to a local poster shop having them throw in another mat.

I'll get a picture and throw it up later.

Just curious. What is everyone doing with their subscriptions? Are you using them to barter for other posters? Are you getting them framed?

I couldn't imagine having all of these things hanging up somewhere.

    hahaha

i may have to add an addition to my place to accomodate all this wallspace.

But seriously i am keeping the posters from the shows I attended, and the others will probably sit flat in my bully box until i can barter or trade for something a little more desirable, perhaps from the 2nd and 3rd Legs .

Oh and by the way , I have written to BigPoppa, but it seems they are ignoring my e-mail ( address) , so maybe someone else can jot down a few lines for Jenne and ask about these issues.

I've actually had several go-rounds with Jenne, too. She was really sweet to me at first, but then I probably got annoying. She was never mean or anything, but I know I was probably asking things of her that she's heard a million times, and really had no control over.

If I ever get into Ames, I'm going to go and give her a big hug. She has a lot of stressful stuff to deal with.

What's going on in the Cincy CCFA poster? Quite an image. It looks like elderly Spider Man on fire! I like Smith's style.

clearly, it shows Uncle Sam being pulled apart in a " tug of war " of sorts, between Elephants ( Repubs ) and Donkeys ( Democrats )

and as a result, good ole Uncle Sam isnt looking very happy about it, either.

    interesting to say the least.

I cant help but feeling a little left out, seeing that each city on Leg 2 is getting their own dedicated CCFA poster. I only know of 1 design for the entire 1st Leg.
    Interesting.

Ha! No. I approached them about an internship a few months ago. That's what I meant by "getting in."

No, it's not looking good at this point, so I'm checking elsewhere. Sorry, Bath! I won't be able to answer your questions.
