  • I was told west coast... july... that's all I know :)

Do you and the first poster My2hads have reliable sources?
I din't mean to be rude, it's just that I don't know you - amd I'm not on these boards often enough to know if you're particularly connected to the band or their organization.
So many rumours get started...It's hard to plan and make decisions like B'Roo or the April West Coast tour when you don't know whether their may be something better coming.
From someone who deosn't have the benefit of living on the West Coast!

    Thanks,
    nikita

Leave Obama alone!!! He doesn't need PJ or any other band to help him. All they can do is hurt his chances. VFC 2004 hurt Kerry. He lost every important state that VFC played. VFC turned him into the Hollywood/Hippie candidate that the South and parts of the Midwest hate. Obama on his current path should destroy McCain in November. Leave well enough alone!

Nope, they played Grand rapids and Michigan voted Demo. Of course Michigan always votes demo based on Detroit, but anyhow.

Kerry won both Pennsylvania and Michigan... and Washington DC where the finale was performed

and i would argue Ohio as well... but thats a whole other discussion

Change is going to happen this time no matter what. The majority want change and are sick of the Republican policies.

Everyone is born, but not everyone is born the same. Some will grow to be butchers, or bakers, or candlestick makers. Some will only be really good at making Jell-O salad. One way or another, though, every human being is unique, for better or for worse.
  • Crazy talk... Kerry lost because they scared people to make it close then stole it...

That and his wife is a real bitch IMO.

Hope you choke on it... I wouldn't make up shit like that and I wouldn't post it unless is was reliable. I say "unless things change" like if Mike breaks his hand or the promoter yanks the deal, whatever... but believe what you want...

Chill.... don't get so uptight... just thought it was funny the way you put it. And I'm thousands and thousands of miles away from the west coast, so whether PJ play or not, I'm not gonna choke on anything.
    Peace

well, to get techinical about it...

Correct me if I am wrong however the point of the VFC 2004 wasn't that a bunch on Bush supporters would come to the show and all the sudden change their minds.....

It was to raise money to donate to organizations that promoted the idea of change and so they could focuses the money towards the swing states...

I was a Bush supporter that went to the shows. Two great shows. Toledo wasn't great until Uncle Neil showed up, but Grand Rapids kicked some serious ass.

The VFC tour was pretty stupid though. That money could be better served elsewhere than some stupid political machine. Obama is raising 40 mil a month, why not have the proceeds from the VFC go to charity instead of paying some politician in hopes they will be able to help charities.

Haha, a Democratic winning his home state of Massachusetts? Pearl Jam provided a miracle.

Hmmmn..... Detroit keeps voting for Democrats. How's Detroit been doing? How about those Democratic leaders and union leaders? They've really turned Michigan into a thriving metropolis. I think 4 bedroom homes are selling for almost $50,000 now.

Jesus...you are one angry dude. The Obama support is admirable, but Dems will be best served by cooling it on the Bush-bashing (or "McBush" et al.). When I stepped into the polls in '04, "Not Bush," "Anyone But Bush," or "Bush Sucks" weren't on the ballot. Efforts need to be focused on getting behind someone...no one was actually getting behind Kerry (for good reason, I presume). For further reference, see the Giant Douche/Turd Sandwich episode of South Park.

This is exactly why I think Ed didn't announce any tour dates in WA. I have a strong suspicion that Seattle (and others) will be getting Pearl Jam shows closer to the election.

WTF are you talking about? Who is Bush bashing in this thread? If someone implies you are making things up do you just roll over and take it like a bitch? Guess so.

    Yep...

So it's not just me then! I've been trying to explain this to a Pac NW area fan...and s/he just won't hear it. S/he is too pissed off and hurt that Ed "abandoned them".

  • If they have any balls they would tour the south and especially Texas with any VFC tour.

By touring the west coast and northern states it's kinda like preaching to the choir.

The purpose of playing the states they did in 2004 was to hit the "swing states". California and "The South" definitely aren't considered "swing states".

"All concerts were held in swing states, to benefit MoveOn.org and to encourage people to vote against George W. Bush (and implicitly, and in some performances explicitly, for John Kerry) in the 2004 Presidential election campaign."

You guys do realize that change is going to happen no matter what right? All this political bantering about change needs to stop. People need to THINK for themselves.
