    i heard its a 2 week tour...

5 shows in Boston, and then 5 in NY.

the band feels these cities have been neglected.

I think it did get more people educated and got a ton of people registered, so it might not have gotten rid of Bush, but it did still serve a great purpose

eh, I dunno. the goal was to get rid of Bush and that didn't happen. It reminds me of when Michael Jordan failed to get the Wizards into the playoffs but said afterwards that it wasn't a complete failure because he was able to get a better understanding of what type of players he had on the team. No MJ, you failed.

oh I agree, it didn't get Bush out, but it did serve some of a purpose- either way, I'd love to get another chance to see PJ again this tour

    thanks for the hint,
i hope it won't be just a west coast or an east coast thing

    i like thunder dan suggestions:

"Cleveland and Columbus should have 3 nights each since Ohio is always on the boarder"

I completly agree with this statement, as I live in Columbus and I can go to both!!!!!!

"I'm not about to give thanks or appologize"

I think there may be a VFC-style tour this fall, but I'm not convinced it will include Pearl Jam.

The Dead, on the other hand, seem to be primed and ready to go out in support of Obama. Neil Young comes to mind, too, considering his recent appearances on Letterman and Charlie Rose.

  • Going to state ahead of time this is an OLD link but after reading this thread I signed up and it did add me to Move On mailing list. If they do a vote for change again this year it might be helpful.

I have gotten an email about every other day from them since signing up.

I am hopeful for VFC '08. I saw the boys in St Louis in 04 and it was awesome. Fox Theater was hands down the best venue I have been in as far as history. Not sure of capacity but it looked around 5,000 people.

I remember in 2004, I made an equal & off-setting donation to the NRA. I wanted to see Pearl Jam, but wasn't happy with my money going to moveon.org. So, I had to do that in order to clear my conscience. :)

Yeah, so much so that they are penalizing you people this year. So they might not even waste their time with that state....no offense.

Yeah, I must say I felt dirty giving money to moveon, but it got me 2nd row in Toledo so I guess donating to something you don't believe in can reward you in the end. ;)

This will be unpopular, but I don't like him. I don't like McCain at all, either. Either of them will be nothing more than corporate bitch-tools. We already know about McCain, and even though he's Republican he does have an historically illustrated anti-establishment streak. I like that much about him. The problem is, he's just dumb. I don't think McCain equates to another Bush term, but he'll support some stupid initiatives and screw the economy even worse than it is. Obama seems pretty sharp, but he already "kissed the ring" at Bilderberger in D.C. this year, and all the "money people", especially the mass media execs are behind him for a reason. He is the "elite" candidate. He will be a tool. He's a three-year senator, that's it. And while it can be argued that maybe the lack of Washington experience means he's less corrupt, that's simply naive. Neither of them offer much promise.

I wish there was a candidate I could get excited about.
