    I'm sorry...

    But
What does a college education have to do with anything?

I hate to break it to you friend...but college means DICK...and it sure as fuck doesn't earn you the right to speak your mind about the direction of this country.

I don't need to piss away 30 grand a year just to make myself educated, intellegent and informed.

So fucking what if Eddie isn't a college grad.

    He's better for it.

I can see it now... tour announced Tues... Wednesday 4,000 Next Day Air AM letters arrive at 10C postal box... same day thread started with title "Post the exact time your NDA letter was delivered to 10C", just so everyone is sure their tickets are in the correct order :D

Social awareness does not equal political activism!

5/23/2011- An utter embarrassment... ticketing failures too many to list.
  • Can't say anything bad, Love them!! I take them for what they are; I love it when someone has a passion, musical, political, whatever! To me, they've proven themselves time and time again.

I don't like it when Ed preaches to the choir and is disrespectful of other people's views. Or when he states his beliefs in an assuming and vague way.
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.

When was he disrepectful of other people's views?? I've heard him speak about his views and say that the choice is yours. I've heard him say his best friend was a Republican and that everyone has a right to their beliefs and that it makes it more interesting.... or something like that.

I'm not sure how you can be assuming and vague at the same time

    1) Songs that meander and don't go anywhere. Their last three albums are all guilty of this.

    2) Vedder forcing politics down peoples throat. I agree with what he says, but how about actually enterting a public debate instead of preaching to the choir?

    3) Bad production on last three albums (I can't be the only one who thought the whole Binaural sound just didn't work, right?). Looking forward to hearing Brendan O Brien again.

not much to dislike about the band.......just wish their album output (years in between) was as frequent as the once every two years deal like the past.

  • Just a few minor ones...

1 - When songs like Daughter and Crazy Mary live get stretched into like 10-minute songs. At about the six-minute mark, I usually start thinking "OK, let's move this along."

2 - I'd love for them to add a few more cover songs.....especially on tours like the one this past June where they didn't have a new album to work off of. I don't really get this one. You'd think they'd have a ton more fun trying out some old '70s rock song than playing Evenflow again.

3 - And not really on them, but with regards to the posters.....why not print like five times as many of these things for every show? It's not like they're gonna go to waste. Would make five times as many people happy.

4 - And I agree...I hate people that list their shows in their signature. What a pompous bunch of.......wait.....DOUF!

At the Storytellers taping, where he said those who don't agree with him could go fuck themselves.

You can be assuming and vague when you are absolutely sure you are right and don't feel the need to back any of your claims by evidence or by showing you have carefully considered your opponent's point of view.

    1. arsehole elitist fans...hoggin the front&generally being ultra weird..

    2. not enough output as in records..more please..and better than that last one..come on lads, youve farted better songs than those...

    3. not enough touring..by faaar...

    4. confusing sometimes nonsensical fan club..like WHERE are my two newsletters a year??? don't say it's so if it aint so! that among other things..

5.shitty exclusive and opportunistic moves like benaroya vinyl, limited posters and such..make it for everybody..not just the affluent. we're inches away from $1000 dinner gigs...fuck that shit it excludes people and is really disgusting.

You must have missed what he said after that comment... about having differing views and accepting that as long as you did research and weren't blindly following the ideals of people without any info to back it up....

    HAhaha!! Oh that's perfect!
  • I want an epic double album, not necessarily a concept album...

I want Pearl Jam to get back to No Code type stuff

let's have an album that flows instead of meanders

    Yikes, really?

How arrogant a statement can you make. Yes, he may lack a college degree, but that says nothing about his intelligence or ability to understand world issues.

And there are lots of dumbasses with degrees out there ;) I'm just sayin...

I found that funny, I don't think it was ment to be utterly dismissive. He clarified it afterward by saying they (the band) have a purpose, and the point of having a purpose or cause is to be dedicated to it. Otherwise there will be no effective change.
  • I don't like (their) patriotism - I understand it in a way (PEOPLE have the power), but my opinion is that patriotism is more a way of excluding others, a way of irrational community under symbols, weak relationsships, anonymity, etc.

You think your degree makes you more intelligent, or creative? The knowledge you acquire for 30K a year can be found on the internet in about 1 minute; I am getting through med school in large part via wikipedia and actually succeeding! Listening to professors will stimulate you, but if your eyes and ears are open then you can get knowledge from everywhere.
    1. Oh....elitist fans piss me off, mainly cause they hog all the best seats and think they deserve it.

was the whole releasing some of the live shows through verizon. you know, supporting a giant multinational corporation by giving a bunch of advertising to a company that complied with warrentless wiretapping and the like...

of course whenever anyone stands up and says anything political, they open themselves up for charges of hypocrisy, and i'd rather see the band take stands than not...still, seeing all that verizon shit on last summer's tour was hard to stomach...

the poster states meet at ten club windows

also the people who go to the ten club window area trying to upgrade thru a trade with an extra single ticket holder
  • Ok...

    - The last album sucked.

    - The psychotic fans who buy everything they put out/wait for hours to get a glimpse of Ed/think McCready is the best guitar player in rock.

    - The ticket distribution system is pretty weak. They really need a new server.

    - The fact they only tour small portions of the United States, and killing fan bases in areas that haven't seen the band live in close to 5 years.

    - Vedder's solo album sucked...wait I guess that's not PJ...

well, that's all I can come up with right now.

Lil Wayne is better than Pearl Jam.
