I wouldn't be surprised if your comment mysteriously disappear after a while...“Life is life everywhere. Life is in ourselves and not outside us. There will be men beside me, and the important thing is to be a man among men and to remain a man always, whatever the misfortunes, not to despair and not to fall - that is the aim of life, that is its purpose.”

OH MY GOD!!
I just listened to the 3 snippets he has on his myspace and this album is a piece of shit!!!
I'm willing to listen to a few more songs if there are some links that WORK out there...but if they are anything like Ground Zero, Watch out or Long Gone...I will NOT be buying this album.
and Chris better be careful case LONG GONE is where his fans will be if he keeps going down this road."Rock and roll is something that can't be quantified, sometimes it's not even something you hear, but FEEL!" - Bob Lefsetz0 -
It sucks but I think this is gonna be the first Cornell release I'm not buying
I've been lurking on the Cornell forum, it's like a police state over there at the moment0 -

I know, it fucking sucks. I'm not even bothering with posting over there, well not at least until the full album drops and then I will deliver my verdict
What I think is ridiculous is how Cornell makes such a big issue in interviews about how he likes to step outside his comfort zone and push himself to try new things, yet this is hardly a 'difficult' or unique direction for him to have gone in. Sure it's surprising, but it sounds exactly like you would expect, Chris Cornell singing over the top of Timberland's music. It is not (from what we have heard so far) genre defying at all.0 -

I'm a huge Soundgarden, Audioslave and Chris Cornell fan. Saw his solo live show last year, and it's one of the best shows i've ever been to. The guy still has talent, he's just burying it under a pile of shit and designer jeans. Oh, and money. It's getting to the point where i'm almost ashamed to be a fan...~AKA Dave-of-the-dead~

Seems more like he is staying in a VERY comfortable zone...and a zone he shouldn't, in my opinion, be in anyway. Sure, you can get "popular" music that is still good...but from what i've heard of these new tracks...they're just awful. I think perhaps Mr Cornell is trying too hard to be relevant and "down with the kids".

I remember when Cornell used to be the coolest muthafucker on the planet. He was enigmatic and musically speaking throughout Soundgarden and Euphoria Morning, he just seemed smarter than your average musician. This whole Timbaland thing just seems so transparent - from the airbrushed promotional pictures to the obvious extent to which he has handed over the musical reigns.0 -

Which makes the "you're just close minded" stance, a favoured argument with the Cornell camp, seem stupid. The stuff Cornell was doing with Soundgarden was far more interesting and challenging than these Top 40 tunes.0 -
I don't even know what point I'm proving with these anymore.

He can't sell out small venues on his own. Carry On , although I liked it, was pretty much a bust. What choice does he really have? He can try to take a stab at pop/hip hop singing over Timbalands prefabricated crap or if he were to put out a Euphoria Morning style record its not gonna give him the money and fame he is searching for. Its sad to say but Chris Cornell is pretty much done.
He is going to put his hope as Timbalands flavor of the month. Market to the kids and fuck his loyal fan base. Except for the Kool-Aid drinking idiots on his fan site. Im sure most of them don't like the Soundgarden days anyway.0 -

I don't entirely agree. The reason I think some places might not have sold out is because he played so many damn shows, his tour schedule was crazy last year. Over here in the UK he had no problems selling out some fairly reasonably sized venues. what he really needs to do is to take some time off to write a record, rather than rushing to throw any old bunch of songs together. He keeps talking about how prolific he is, but unfortunately that doesn't mean much when the quality isn't so good. I would rather wait two years and get a decent album.0 -
They just deleted my latest thread over there - the one with that last comic strip in it. This is fun.Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.0
