Amen to that. They have spammers on there that never seem to get banned. Oh but mention something negative about the new music, street team, dickface Timbaland, etc., and you'll be deleted/censored. If you keep it up, you'll be banned. The board is a fucking disgrace these days, much like the new music.

    Very democratic. ;)

By the way, Justin Timberlake makes an appearance on the new album!? Wow!!! Now I have a reason to buy it. :)
    Chris Cornell, The Pop Star!
    Terrible!
Let's say knowledge is a tree, yeah.

Be cool if Chris would grow a set and reply to our thread, you know hes reading it. Or at least "wh#@efromscotland" from the CC forum tells him what is said since she obviously is the superfan that knows all.

just checked in at aliceinchains.com , very ruthless in the Cornell is a sellout thread there. They had a couple streeteamers try to hijack and come to save Chris but to no avail.

thanks for whoever defended me on the Cornell board, I never used any profanity or talked about Cornells personal life. I was banned for not liking Scream solely. Not that I care but nice someone recognized I did nothing wrong.

I've had an account there for awhile. Think I have 20 something posts, not as entertaining for me. I think some of yall are entertaining yourselves with this. Cornell had to know what response this would get from a large portion of the "grunge" audience, as we are. Its my favorite of all music, but I do like other stuff. I'm gonna get this album; I still think there may be a chance that I'll like it... may be. Its still interesting enough to me.

thats what makes this thread so much fun and more honest and constructive... i gave up on being upset about it awhile ago... theres just something comical about the whole thing now

  • With all the sadness this new direction of CC gives me, I have to say, this thread made me lol many times.

I think I've come to the conclusion that Cornell is gonna say GOTCHYA! in the next few weeks...wishful thinking.
But it's probably some midlife attention seeking crisis and everything is FUBAR now.

The best part about this new Cornell is all the funny comments it's creating. Man does it suck!

That's true, the whole thing would be so sad if it weren't so funny. I can't wait to read the reviews once the album gets released. I'm really hoping that pitchfork reviews this trainwreck, it would be hilarious.

I'm absolutely positive Timberland goes to bed every night laughing his head off because his ruse hasn't been rumbled by the sheep like pop music industry.

I mean how many songs of his songs have that fuckin' awful "Oh EH" sample in em? I await the video for Chris's single to have him in the background pulling gang signs and making his face do that " I'm right quirky me! confused thing.

Oh and to have scantily clad women wearing balaclavas (how fuckin' creepy was that in that pussy cat doll singer duet he did)

Chris Cornells album won't be crossing the threshold of my house. Can any say Mid Life Crisis?

As for the news that timberlake and one republic dude making appearances on the album, thats just rubbing salt into an already nasty infected pus filled wound.

Chris , if you're reading this........... wake the fuck up chief!

You wrote Like Suicide, why would you need a gurning twat to help make an album?

I agree. I'm totally for changing up one's style, genre, or whatever. I'm not looking for another Badmotorfinger; those days are 'long gone' so to speak. But for Christ's sake man, use your fucking head. Timbaland?!? Did you expect something 'original' out of him? This is the EXACT same shit you hear day in and day out on top 40 radio.....nothing new or innovative at all. Just the same ol' manufactured, ring-tone ready crap with Cornell's vocals over top. The vocals, I might add, are pretty damn good too, which makes this whole effort even more depressing and a total pooch-screw. Please turn the speaker off.....

I think "Watch Out" has the possibility to knock off Metallica's "Frantic" for worst lyrics of this decade.

I can't believe I just found out that "Long Gone" and "Part of Me" were written by The Clutch... that is the icing on the cake. Cornell can fuck right off.

one of the biggest defenses from the streetteamers at Chris Cornells site were that Chris did write all the lyrics, now its more and more evident that he was Timbalands puppet. "Sing it , white boy , sing it."

There's Jim Beanz too ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Beanz ), who is the genius behind the "Ashlee Simpson leftover" Watch Out ( http://thomascrownchronicles.blogspot.com/2008/08/5-tracks-by-chris-cornell.html )

I'm not sure if the fact that Chris didn't write Part of Me is a bad thing or a good thing. After all, at least he's not responsible for "That bitch ain't a part of me... no, that bitch ain't a part of me."

My Chris Cornell Inquisiton thread got deleted!! That was fast. Thankfully I saved the text:

I noticed that there's a lot of new members joining this board lately and when they state a negative opinion of Chris' new direction, they are usually questioned about their true fandom to Chris.

You see, it's very important that we should be able to identify the true fans from the infidels here. Only true fans have the right to stay and state their opinons. So for the good of this board, I'm setting upthe Chris Cornell Inquisition. All new members will be watched closely about their beliefs and only the approved fans will be allowed to stay. Old members will be inquired when they state questionable opinions of Chris Cornell. I shall assemble a running list of infidels who should be burned and are not welcome on this board!

Now, do identify the infidels, everyone should look for statements such as:

    "Timbaland sucks!"

"I don't like this new music"

    "Chris Cornell is a sellout!"

True fans should like everything Chris Cornell has ever done! Not liking some of his music is a capital crime andno true fan is allowed to dislike any of his music! A true fan should support everything Chris does, no matter what. if Chris Cornell kills a puppy, a true fan will support his decision! If a true fan sees someone saying bad things about Chris Cornell, the true fan must defend him immediately and try to convert the infidel to the Chris Cornell faith.

Be aware that if you do not fit this profile, you are a sinner and the Chris Cornell Inquisiton will come after you!

It was a good thread and it didn't break any rules!

guess its worth trading 3 months of Timbaland promotion and flavor of the month status for a bunch of life-long fans. anyone know where there is a listing of albums sold? , I cant wait to see this thing bomb.
