  • Oh, it's amusing to watch these people contort when they learn more and more about the project and it becomes harder and harder to defend.

Like the co-writers. How didn't they know about the co-writers. I mean, they're true fans! Don't they know how the R&B game works, where even if you *did* write the project yourself, you get all of the producers friends/family slapped on to the liner notes in order to get a part of the royalties?

Except it sounds like these guys actually did have a hand in writing.

Funny, Chris didn't feel like giving the Rage band money, but these guys, no problem... and his own current band, no royalties for you guys, you just have to deal with the overflow from the meet and greets when Chris can't handle it anymore and it challenges his sobriety.

BTW, I was reading around, any truth that Chris has cut off all of the Seattle
people that he hadn't cut off already, like Mike and Matt?

There was a recent interview where he got asked if he's still in touch with the Seattle people and he said no. I was wondering this week if he would have attended the Natasha Schneider benefit if he wasn't on tour. Something tells me that he wouldn't be there anyway...

wouldnt surprise me at all... dont know what theyd want to do with chris anyway... you would think he and mike would have some common ground though as recovered addicts... he seems intent on pushing away the people that care about him for what he really is instead of this "image" he wants for himself

yeah hes pretty much set up shop in France now, opening restaurants , modeling, selling jeans. Im pretty much holding his wife/family responsible. Im sure they just want to keep Chris sober and are looking out for his best interests mentally/health wise. But he has basically given Seattle a big middle finger because he lacks any self control over the booze/drugs. Sucks for his fans and those that loved his music, but at least hes still alive and though fleeting, there is always hope for 1 more masterpiece from him.

He should have gone regardless, it's disrespectful. I don't see why he would cut her out, if he did, considering she was sick and all that, it's pretty much unforgiveable.

if he really is as unstable and human as you suggest i wish that would come across in his work... what better way to deal with your demons than through music?? and it makes for some damn good songs that actually evoke some emotions... all those streetteamers say that the mans private life should be something entirely separate from his music but how can you say that when its obviously directly negatively effecting his music... like you said though, if he can eventually become more self aware and in tune with his own emotional state of mind he may yet have another masterpiece in him

I need to do some gossip right now. Do you guys know who used to write "suggestive" fanfiction about Chris Cornell?

Be cool if Chris would grow a set and reply to our thread, you know hes reading it. Or at least "wh#@efromscotland" from the CC forum tells him what is said since she obviously is the superfan that knows all.

    That's not called for.

Oh come on, it's too easy. We already talked about this person here before.

Now, I was just talking to a CC/SG fan on MSN. And he hadn't listened to the new songs yet. So I sent him some links. Here's the conversation after he listened to Watch Out:

    CC fan says:
    LOL!!!!

    I say:
    ahaha

    CC fan says:
    what was he smoking!!

    I say:
    it is indeed hilarious

    CC fan says:
    it is INDEED hilarious

    CC fan says:
is this some kind of joke haha

    I say:
    i'm afraid not

    CC fan says:
    its so amazingly retarded

    CC fan says:
he has been blessed with one of the best rock vocals ever, and he does the crap!

    I say:
    it's a waste

    CC fan says:
i dont wanna hear the last two tracks

    CC fan says:
listen to one of them tracks then listen to rusty cage

    CC fan says:
    hehe!

    I say:
    clean your ears

    CC fan says:
i appreciate everyone taste in music changes as you grow older but thats not an excuse for that appaling rubbish!

Yeah, that's part of the problem with that forum, most of the posters are just horny for Chris. He could do an album of Raffi covers and it wouldn't change a thing.

Yeah, but this person pratically works for him. It's just creepy. I wish I could get ahold of those fanfictions. I was told they were deleted.

That's what I felt when I saw the band listing for the benefit. I thought it was pretty out of order that he didn't get involved.

This is the obvious suspect, isn't it? See I never understood the "whole love everything a person puts out because you wanna shag 'em". I mean, Christina Aguilera? I so would. But listen to/buy/defend an album of hers? I so wouldn't.

  • Haha, another thread has been deleted that I was reading half an hour or so ago. It was about the release date for the album, which was taken from a blog. This blog happened to mention The Clutch and Jim Beanz, causing a big slagging-off as it were, thus causing the thread to be closed. It was actually started by one of his followers too.

Er...do a search for Chris Cornell fan fiction on Google...

The four members of the band Soundgarden, (Chris Cornell, Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd and Matt Cameron) were sitting in the green room enjoying a beer and a smoke before going in to shoot the film clip for their latest release “Blow Up The Outside World”. Though singer Chris did not seem to be enjoying the atmosphere…

“So I says right, so I says to the fascist bastarrd ‘Look man! Just cause you’re not fulfilled in your mundane everyday boring suburban asshole lifestyle, don’t take it out on me cause you think I got it good! You know nothing about my life and…” Guitarist Kim stopped, noticing the lack of acknowledgment on singer Chris’s face.

“Hey Chris you ok?” Bass player Ben and drummer Matt stopped playing cards while discussing socialism in the 1930’s and took notice too… or maybe they were just talking about dogs.

Chris was staring straight ahead, a blank expression on his face.

“Matt,” said Kim “Did you give Chris that extra strong Seattle weed again…” The make-up girl, walking by the room at the time, looked at Kim with a quizzical look; after all, Soundgarden weren’t supposed to do drugs!

“… Ah I mean, that extra strong Seattle beer, Cause, you know, Soundgarden… not on drugs! No way! Never! We don’t like that whole dependant…. Oh fuckk it.” Pretending not to notice the make-up girl quickly walked out of the room.

Once it was safe Matt replied. “Nah man I told you I run out of that last week.”

“Then what the hell is wrong with Chris?” a frustrated Kim replied.

All of them just stared at Chris for awhile, hoping to get some sort of signal that he was ok. Kim checked his pulse just to make sure…

“I wouldn’t worry too much man,” said Ben, “Chris always gets like this, you know that.”

“Yeah,” said Kim, “but never during one of my speeches!”

Matt and Ben looked at each other with grins on their faces. “Maybe your speech was a little too… exciting for him” Said Matt trying to stifle a laugh.

Realising he was having the piss taken out of him, Kim said, “Hey fuck you that’s not funny!” waving around his beer can more violently as he went on, “I’ve got a degree in philosophy! Every thing I say should be taken as gold!” By this stage Ben and Matt were trying not to pee their pants with laughter.

Kim shook his head and under his breathe said, “I swear to God, I don’t know why I still hang around you guys.”

A soft and almost distant sounding voice broke the silence, “Since when do you believe in God?” Kim, Matt and Ben looked at each other in shock. Chris had actually spoken!

Kim smiled, not really sure what to say, “Yeah well I didn’t go to religion classes for my entire childhood like you did I?” said Kim still grinning. Chris smiled back. Then almost as suddenly as he had ‘awoken’, he went back to staring at the wall like a sack of potatoes again. The rest of Soundgarden sighed in defeat. With only 10 minutes till they had to start filming, they were getting worried.

Ben spoke up, “Maybe he’s scared about shooting the film clip, this aint exactly an easy song for someone to sing you know what I mean? We all know how private Chris can be and look at how personal the song is. He’s practically telling the whole world he wants to hole himself up in some cave away from society for the rest of his life. Maybe he’s just nervous? Hell I would be!...Hey you know what?” continued Ben after awhile “That cave thing seems like a pretty good idea…”

Matt and Kim stared and him in disbelief. “Don’t you start that shit now!” said Kim, “One ‘I hate the world and can’t take the attention cause I’m insecure about myself’ guy in the band is bad enough!”

“I’m not insecure about myself and I sure as hell don’t hate the world!” said Ben, “But anyway, fuck you! Don’t tell me what to do! If I wanna be like that I can be like that!” Kim rolled his eyes; he was able to shrug off Ben’s defensiveness by now.

“I still don’t like it,” said Matt, “Why can’t he be one of those people who gets all over happy when their nervous to cover it up?”

“Cause then he wouldn’t be a proper lead singer now would he?” Said Kim.

Matt and Ben nodded in agreement. Knowing they could do nothing but let it pass, they started playing cards again. Kim joined in, and for the rest of the wait they played “Old Maid” while discussing the significance of the glam rock movement of the 70’s to the modern music of today… or maybe it was just about the colour green.
