8 revelations - good radio song, excellent combination of morello and cornell on this one
5 one in the same - best example of the zeppelin + r&b and the best choice for a single IMO
7 sound of a gun - heard it in concert last year and it sounds like classic audioslave
6 untill we fall - this one has grown so much for me and is now one of my favorites excellent cornell tune
9 original fire - really good song that sounds even better in the context of the album
12 broken city - totally different song heavy on the morello fx
10 somedays - super pop song that i totally dig, one where morello and cornell seem to be on different planets
2 shape of things to come - such a beautiful song
11 jewel of the summertime - i'm sure rage fans wish cornell would be angry for this one. once again morello and cornell are on different planets, but i still like it. sounds like OOE more than the other tracks
3 wide awake - i read that morello said, "finally" about this one. great song that everyone should hear
4 nothing left to say but goodbye - i think cornell just went ahead and made the album he wanted to and morello did the same. a real cornell beauty that is very sweet, silly and turns out to be one of the best
1 moth - hear it is, the best song on the album and the best song in the AS catalog, IMO
BEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR FOR ME, LOVE EVERY SONG FROM FRONT TO BACKbombs, dropping down, please forgive our hometown0 -
i bought it the day it came out and i love it. i think its their best album, but not much better than their first. i like every song, even the new 'be yourself', "until we fall".
before i bought the album and went through all of the song titles for some odd reason i knew moth was going to be the best. and it is. that song is amazing, just the title alone is great.0 -

I dig the imagery and themes of that song. yeah definitely the best track on the album.
As for the worst song...it's hard to toss up between which irritates me more..original fire, somedays or jewel of the summertime...i usually skip them promptly hehe//ten.club.#352XXX//

Revelations is such a relief! I knew Audioslave still had the "fire" in them but it definitely didn't show on Out of Exile. The band really restrained themselves on that one and it didn't pay off.
I do have a few criticisms of Revelations...like the fact that Cornell kind of shouts his way through the album. He really doesn't "sing" anything. But I'd certainly prefer shouting to "Doesn't Remind Me." I agree with the person who said "Somedays" is an annoying song.
Revelations is surely Cornell's best record since Down on the Upside. My favorite songs are "Broken City," "One and the Same," and "Wide Awake." Crank up the volume, hit play, and just let it blast!"This is another sing-a-long." - Eddie Vedder before singing Lukin live at Madison Square Garden.0 -
i think its a good album however the 1st is still my alltime fav!"I hear Fanch has a Pimp Cup and loves Kiss. I think that's all that really matters."0

Sure is a good purchase, solid, consistent and has a flow, something the last two albums did'nt feel like they had to me, they both had some classic songs on, this one just feels solid from track 1 to 12.:)Can not be arsed with life no more.0 -

Ironic that they go for the eyes first0 -
I guess I'm one of the few who was actually pleased by Out of Exile. Restraint has a purpose in places; I think artists do themselves and their fans a favor by not being typical and constantly doing the same things. I'm hoping that Audioslave will keep on flexing their versatility.
Exile and Revelations are both in my car (along with 4 others CD's) and spinning them on random is pretty good. I liked Moth upon first listen but now....wow."I'm here to see Pearl Jam."- Bono

I liked Out of Exile actually, my qualms with it were the opening and closing tracks which were really weak and brought the overall mood of the album down. I think in terms of versatility, out of exile is probably their most versatile (i.e. title track, Dandelion, Yesterday to Tomorrow, #1 Zero, Doesn't Remind Me). I don't know what people see the 1st album honestly. there are really only 4-5 songs which I can bare to listen to anymore (and cochise is not one of them)...and Cornell sounds so awful.
Revelations is what the 1st album should've sounded like. it's basically a more cohesive version of the first album, with better written songs (i.e. Moth, Wide Awake, Shape of Things to Come, Nothing Left to Say But Goodbye)...feel free to argue this point...//ten.club.#352XXX//

Good opinions with actual points to justify them. I listen to the first album the least, as well. Would love to take Hypnotize, Like A Stone and Getaway Car and stick them on the other 2 albums. Revelations is definitely cohesive body of work. It sounds like the pieces of the 2 repective groups are finally finding their common ground."I'm here to see Pearl Jam."- Bono

i say give em another 1-2 albums before choosing to write them off or not. that's my 2 cents//ten.club.#352XXX//

from all the interviews, these guys are FAR from calling it quits..... a little hiatus never hurt anyone. This is my fav album from them overall, start to finish.....0

I'm with you Tosh! Last night I had put in a SOAD cd in the car and my daughter got a little pissed off with me. She said, "no, you can't take out Revelations!" We've had that cd in since the first day it came out! Absolutely love it and think it's the best one from them yet! (I was just in a SOAD mood, for the moment.

the more i listen to this album, the more i realize that it just might take the top spot. THIS IS A FANTASTIC ALBUM. it flows so well that i'm amazed when MOTH is over. and let me just say that MOTH is the perfect closer.I died. I died and you just stood there. I died and you watched. I died and you walked by and said no. I'm dead.0 -
wow, Chuckie lives.........whatdya know?!?!?!?!? Glad you're being positive about it now.....wait til we see them do this shit live.........ooooooohhhhhhyeah!!!!0

Even though I think this album is the bands best album thus far, I wouldn't mind at all if they broke up. I would rather for just Tom to leave, but I think its a 3-for-1 deal with the Rage guys.
For anybody that is interested, I have a full-scale review for the album on last.fm: review
While it is a very good album, its no where close to the best album by a Cornell this year. That title belongs to Chris' brother Peter and his band Black Market Radio.I share a cigarette with negativity.0 -
Wow, heard this album today for the 1st time. How much I want RATM to return, this album really kicks ass...great songs...haven't heard any of them so far (not even the single(s))...
Certainly one of the best this year!
PS I don't understand all the complaints about Brad Wilk, I think he's a good drummer, even for Audioslave...0
