you have people literally traveling from all over the world to see pearl jam at the garden. i don't think those same people would go through those lengths to see them in boston.
MSG was my first choice for this tour but I just couldn't get the funds together. So Tampa for me.
One day I will see them at The Garden though and I have a feeling it won't be overrated.
Seeing visions of falling up somehow.

Now mind you, I didn't go to MSG 1 in 2003 so I won't be commenting on that, but I went to MSG 2 in 2003 and it was a real good show but it didn't really feel that special to me. I think part of the reason was that the arena was a little too hyped up for my expectations. I saw ten shows in 03 and MSG 2 for me personally wasn't in my top 5 that I went to.
Things should be different this year though because I'll be on the floor instead of in section 131. So hopefully I'll get to see what makes the Garden "magical" because it just seemed like another show for me last time - a very, very good one, but nothing too special.
(Before people start going off on me for being a New York hater, the Camden shows in 03 were 8th and 9th for me out of my ten shows that tour.)
fuck that!! Giants suck!! fucking fluke!! see what they do this season!!(bet they don't even make it past the first round of the playoffs, assuming they even make the playoffs)

I think MSG II 2003 was actually a better setlist and better show then MSG I. As far as the special show feeling, it is all relative.
You may not feel it, but others might. I was at a couple shows that should have been awesome but I was too drunk or hung over from the previous night (two consecutive nights are almost impossible for me to do with concerts these days) to really appreciate them.
It's funny, the Red Sox win 2 World Series titles in the last 89 years and now they're fans think they're the greatest team ever. And they can't accept the fact that the Giants outplayed the Patriots in the Superbowl. Giants beat the Cowboys and the Packers, two top seeded teams, before the Patriots. They didn't just get a lucky break.

Im sure the crowds are great, I wont dispute, but honestly, I havent seen anything too special in any of the past setlists. Yes, I know about Breath in 98. I just think they have uninspired setlists. I fully expect the 2 Boston shows to have more unique setlists as per the usual, but everyone will be raving how they shook the garden during Evenflow.
For me they will be special because I'll be able to go home by subway for the first time after a pearl jam show
Also, the DVD they did was for an MSG show, not for a Boston show, wasn't it
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.

Well, the Pats did have the lead with 2 minutes to go, and were a CH away (both Samuel's near INT, and a sack of Eli) from winning it.
But, you're right, the G-men did outplay "us" that night. Congrats to them.
pj0705 have you ever even BEEN to MSG? Every show there transforms into an amazing one. The energy there is like no where else I've ever been too.

I thought it was a really good setlist, but like I said I think people had just hyped it up plus talking to all my friends who went to night 1 made expectations way too high for the show.
That's why I'm going into the MSG shows this year with no expectations and if my socks get knocked off that will be awesome.
And trust me - I wasn't drunk or hungover for the show. I never do that for PJ concerts.
Just my 2 cents as a guy that has never been to MSG for a show.
I have to say that the "ultimate venue" to see my favorite band is NOT MSG. It is not the GORGE (where I have seen them 4 times). It is NOT any of the venues you would think of...........
My ultimate venue that PJ could play would be places like The Whiskey, Wembley, The Showbox, CBGB's, places like that.......
Most of them are smaller than MSG (except Wembley and I chose that because well..........its WEMBLEY!!!!!!!!!!!)
But that is just me. I hope to one day see a show in MSG so I have a fair frame of reference. But I can not believe that a show in that venue alone would add up to the "ultimate"

i don't really give 2 fucks about any of these teams to tell the truth, sports don't really mean shit.just a fun semi-distraction from the cunt bags in DC destroying our country and way of life.
and as far as MSG goes, i would go see PJ play anywhere they go that i can afford to get to.the geographical location is irrelevant! they are just man made imaginary lines named after elite/rich douche-bags that could care less about any of us.

No, don't have a problem with the Sox or Celts? Was talking football, but now that I know you're just another crybaby Pats fan, I will just ignore you since you obviously have some denial issues that I can't help you with.

Again, I think what you're hearing here ... as it is with Red Sox fans .... as it is with many things in life, is the vocal minority. 90% of us don't need to shit on NYC, there no need for it.
Both are great cities ... both have had amazing PJ shows ... both have insanely solid histories with their sports teams. Why does one have to be better than the other? Who gives a shit? .... if you like where you are ... good ... stay there and shut it. No need to feel BETTER than someone else.
I'll be hitting up my first MSG shows on this tour (I'll be the guy in the front row in the Red Sox hat you'll be throwing shit at ... c'mon lottery!) .... followed by shows 9 and 10 in Mansfield ...

But you can never pass up a chance to see PJ at MSG.
35 shows, and 9-11-98 is my fave. My first time in the city and at the Garden. I've been back for every tour, and each time it's fantastic.
I love giving Yankee fans' shit, but don't kid yourselves, anybody who's everybody wants to be at these shows.
I'm just sad I won't be there this year :(
