    Um, Shinedown?.... Why?

Jim James of MMJ has a wonderful voice, it overpowered Eddies during thier "It makes No difference" cover... He has an amzingly powerful- yet soft voice. Friggin' genius sound.

I find Jim to have an annoyingly screechy voice. My friend and I couldn't decide whether to nickname him Screech or Cousin It. He was horrible to say the least. And I know it wasn't an off day because he's supposed to sound like that. The only song I could tolerate him singing was Off The Record. That whole indie scene is horrible anyways. The singers all have rather whiny voices.

And I wish they weren't touring with Shinedown because they suck and I'd rather see another band co-headlining. Shinedown is my second favorite band behind only Pearl Jam. I assume you're hinting at your dislike for Shinedown but I'm going to have a blast and that's all that matters.

Mine would have to be LIT. They were playing at my school a few years back and i figured, what the fuck, why not go and watch a concert. Soooooooooooooooooooooooo fucking horrible. I walked out 3 songs in.

best part: Lead guitar player with that shitty long goatee

Gp(guitar player): You know whats good about a dry campus?

    crowd: waiting for a reply

    Gp: Fucking nothin...

  • Went to see Bon Jovi (yeh, I know don't hold it against me) the other day, and guess who were main support...

None other than that huge-jawed golden-haired beard-wearing c**t that is Chad fucking Kroger and Nickle fucking back. Half the crowd left to go to the bar, toilet, car to listen to the radio for their set.

Shocking. Wanted the Portugal thing to happen again....
  • i was at woodstock '99, that was a whole weekend of shitty live acts. The worst of the worst were Korn and Limp Bizkit. They were both super shitty. Metallica sucked too. I was mainly there to see the Hip. Thank god LB is out of the popular conciousness. I swear to god, if I heard "I did it all for the Nookie" come blaring out of one more poser's car, I was going to beat the living fuck out of him. I usually take a to each his own policy, but I can't fucking stand Limp Bizkit. Fred Durst always looked like a date rapist to me.

I think Trapt is going to win this honor next week though. Wish they weren't touring with Shinedown.

i used to not like Trapt till i got to see them live along with Shinedown and they both put on a hell of a show....

Brent from Shinedown has an amazing voice and gets into the music while Trapt has grown as a band from the beginning and are getting alot better

Get this...I missed my highschool graduation to take my ex-gf to see her favourit band at the time. Bush!! Brutal, horrible, terrible. Veruca Salt opened for them and were far more entertaining. To this day (it's been 10 years) I still can't believe I missed my grad for that shit :(

I actually saw a show on this tour myself and I have to back you up on this. Bush was awful and at one point during glycerine Gavin looked as if he didn't know how to play guitar and sing at the same time...rancid performance. Veruca Salt was much better and I didn't much care for them at the time either...big letdown.

You all have to be kidding!! I saw this razorblade suitcase tour also with Varucca Salt opening. Varucca Salt is probably the worst chick band next to discovering sleater-Kinney. I saw the Houston show, and Bush was SO MUCH better than Varucca Salt. The concert review in the paper, agreed with you guys though, but I swear to you, that Bush played one of the best shows of their career that night. The crowd was so into it. It was even better than the sixteen stone tour I saw. The only thing that put a damper on the show was some douche bag, decided to throw a shoe, during Glycerine, and nailed Gavin Rossdale right in the face. He was pissed, said "Fuck you whoever that was, and wherever you are," and went right back to playing. Swallowed was Amazing, as was little things, Cold contageious, and Everything zen ... awesome versions. Maybe you caught them on an off night, or maybe Rossdale was in a bad mood, cause, I heard if he is pissed, then their shows suck... the shows can reflect his pissy mood.
During Varucca, NO ONE in the crowd clapped, stood up, or even acknowleged the band. They were so bad. Nina Gordon's outfit made her look like Dorthy from the Wizard of oz. The Guitar was bigger than she is. The band just seemed off, out of it, and tried to sound/ play like a thrash punk band. Shutterbug was played WAY to slow, and they sped through Seether, their best song!!

I went to the Bush/Veruca Salt show as well, in St Louis in '97. I basically went to see VS, who did a good job. Bush wasn't that great, though Gavin did sing well and the songs from Razorblade Suitcase (a album that disappointed me greatly) sounded better live.

Anyway, the worst band I've seen live was Weezer back in '96 on the Pinkerton tour. Rivers just moved back and forth the entire time and the whole experience was pretty boring.

I'd give them another chance, though - it's been 10 years.

Not possible for DLR to have been too drunk. I've heard a few live tapes, that was far and away the best era of Van Halen. I would absolutle love to go back in time and see that show.

Bought tickets for George Clinton a month or so before the show. It was later announced that the Chilli Peppers would be there, I was too stoked for words.

The RHCP played two or three songs and it was unlistenable. Then the P Funk came out and the sound was so bad my buddy and I went out to our car that was blocked in for the next hour or so and just chilled to some CD's.

The other three times I've seen the RHCP were awesome however.

The Cars in 1985 at Poplar Creek (suburban Chicago). Rumor was it they lip synched everything from start to finish. They were on stage for less than 90 mins and the only time they addressed the crowd was when the late Ben Orr said "Good night Chicago". He probably need to look at the back of his guitar to remember which city he was in.

Wang Chung actually was better than they were. Enuf said

from back in 'the day' it's kind of a tossup (pun intended) between Jo Jo Gunne and Grand Funk Railroad.

WAAAAY TOO LOUD and WAAAAY TOO LOUD

    just fuckin awful, really,

    honest ta gawd, trooth
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

    THE BLACK CROWES.

I know... that's gonna start a lot of shit but... They opened for Tom Petty last summer. I was lookin' forward to hearing some of the songs I know by them but they litterally sat on the stage and played as if they were messing around at practice in a garage. No entertainment whatsoever and they didn't play a single song the crowd knew. By the time their set was over, I had just realized they were actually playing a set.

    Petty was great though

Not for nothing, but that show was probably awesome to a die hard Crowes fan. I am sure if Pearl Jam was to do it, us die hard Pearl Jam fans would think it was the greatest. When I saw the Crowes last year I saw them do a lot of rarities that I did not know and I realized that if I was die hard about the like I am Pearl Jam I would have gone crazy at the show.

I saw Weezer co headline with Foo fighters last year, and you know.. I was impressed. I never cared to see them on their own headlining gig. I had a chance to go see them in 2002 with Dashboard confessional opening I think? and had no desire to go. I think I was impressed by Weezer show with Foo fighters because they stuck to the hits, and being a casual fan that suited me. They only played 2 Pinkerton songs, and they did do a cover of Big me from foo. Overall, great show, but don't know if I want to see them on a headlining tour. Maladroit was a god awful album.

I find the singer to be beyond annoying and whiny. He whined so bad in the music videos and looked like some punky prep or something. I've also heard he has a nasty attitude towards other bands. I'll be sure to throw a boo or two out there.
