lol, i think you're right. I haven't seen a single complaint, it's refreshing to see.
I think i'm going to go with the download option, probably FLAC. It's just more convenient for me. But the CD option is badass.
NO DVDS WHAT THE FUCK PEARL JAM...........hahahahhaahhahahahhahaha jk more than happy
Out of the Blue and Into the Black................Uncle Neil Philly 08 here I come!!!!
I'll prolly get a CD of Hartford (the show I am going to) and then possibly MSG 1 and 2 because you know they are going to be bad ass shows. Or I might just buy Hartford in hopes of them releasing a "BUY EVERY SHOW IN ONE COMPLETE PACKAGE" deal on physical disc. Whatever shows are really good though I will buy through downloading probably.
Bravo, PJ & 10C! I don't care about vcast, or mp3s, but I'm sure others do, so it is great that they have options. I do care about high quality, and you've provided 2 great high quality offerings. I'm sure I'll buy a few CDs and a few FLAC downloads this time around. Thanks for providing choices!
"I'll use the magic word - let's just shut the fuck up, please." EV, 04/13/08
Bravo guys. Bravo. And that's to everyone involved from the band to the 10C.
Even though there are a few questions that have come from this announcement (most notably the burned vs pressed issue and the ability to buy as a set), you have made a lot of your fans very happy with this.
You have somehow made me even more excited to see them twice next week!
The sound mixing on 2005 and 2006 is pretty bad on some shows: they sound distant, muddy and a bit weak. It's been widely attributed to the punishing timeframe set to get the shows out (a day or two in some cases!) and so the move to a 2-week delay is a FUCKING GODSEND. It should mean a better quality release all around - imagine every show sounding as good as Live On Two Legs or the Gorge box...
... well if you put it that way! Great point. I should shut up now.
yes Yes i cant wiat real cds, Thought they would jsut do it on the computer to download thanks again 10c. The best 20 bucjs u could ever spend in a year.
ive never seen so many positive comments in one thread. ever on here. not even when a tour is announced. way to go ten club. physical cds please us!!!
Well when there is a tour there are probably more disappointed then thrilled since it's location sensitive. EVERYONE can get behind boots! I mean, that's a big part about why we are fans, no? It brings the shows to everyone. It's a wonderful thing... especially the disappointment of not having them for last year. They're back!
sooooooooo happy to see the return of physical CDs! definitely be getting em for all my shows. it makes me to know pearl jam/10c REALLY listen/respect our desires!
there's even an upside to the 2 week wait. We'll get to see all the setlists from the tour before buying so be able to make an informed choice!

But the MP3 download was poor quality (bitrate) unmixed. But it was nice to have before the cds. Especially if you chose the ship each leg together option like I did.
Yes I do remember the unmixed, which doesn't look to be the format this time which the more I think about it makes me reverse my earlier thought and believe that there will be a 2 week wait so the first download is a mixed, better quality one.
I am uber excited about the physical cds coming back... ill take em all!!! i hope they will ship all at once... for certain shows i have to order several copies as im bringing the gf, brothers, sisters and nephew....YES YES YES!!!
it's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...
Thank you very much! I will be buying the CDs. Also what are the chances of getting 2007 boots released. I really would like the Vic show on CD. Thanks!

I would like to say, thank you for the return of the physical CD bootlegs. Looking forward to the quality and having something tangible to add to my Pearl Jam record (disc) collection. Recycled materials: stellar. I won't even bitch about the slight increase in price since the last round of tour bootlegs came out on CD in '03 (though damn, those 2000 boots...those were the days). I'm happy about physical CDs. However, I am going to bitch.
I never thought I'd say it, but the Verizon deal is a Pearl Jam SELL OUT.
DRM free downloads...BUT the band is signing away to a fucking cell phone corporation???? How can this even be mentioned in the same press release?
"By request from fans..." BULLSHIT. I don't read every thread on this board, but I don't think there were many posts (if any) where people said:
"God, you know what...I love that Pearl Jam offers so many songs and concerts and bootlegs and fan club stuff...but what I REALLY need to keep me listening to them is 3 shit-sounding downloads after a concert to play out of my mobile phone, which coincidentally is on the Verizon network! Can we please get that, mods? Kat, Sea, please help!"
Never saw it. I did see lots of people (myself included) requesting physical CDs.
This is a sell out folks, pure and simple. It stinks.
And what's sad is that I'll get slammed for posting this by people who, as we speak, are doing what they can to switch their cell phone service over to Verizon so they can get a free song after 12 shows, and the "privilege" to PURCHASE 2 more songs. Whoopee. Follow the lemmings.
Actually, a simpler way to say all this is: Listen to Ed's Jewel/commercialism rant on the 2003 San Diego concert.
2003: Funny. 2008: True. And sad.
They should be ashamed.

For what exactly? Making music even more widely available than before? No one's holding a gun to your head to buy it. I suppose you thought they were sell-outs when they played SNL which is sponsored by giant corporations, too. They've done commercial things in the past too.......no shame in doing it, until it compromises the music that they put out, which, to this point hasn't happened. you've been listening since at least 1993, and you say follow the lemmings. well, unless you stop listening to the band cold turkey right now, you support pearl jam still.

The Verizon deal is all about cost. They were probably looking to reduce the cost of the official boots, part of the reason, I think, as to why we got no '07 boots. They were losing money. By signing the deal with Verizon, they managed to have some of the cost of taping and distributing the boots taken off them by using Verizon-sponsored equipment, and, in return, offering the cell phone downloads. I'd rather have this than no boots which is where the situation was probably headed.

Made-to-order Bootleg CDs
In addition to digital bootlegs, Pearl Jam is launching a new physical CD program for this tour. CDs will be manufactured according to customer demand and will ship within three weeks of each show date. CDs will be made-to-order using recycled material. The price for hard copy bootlegs is $16.99/show and will be available exclusively through http://www.pearljam.com.
Call me old-fashioned, but I'm very excited about this! Thanks 10C and PJ!!!!!
