Ten Club have really come through for everyone. I don't know why anyone would want to buy a bootleg over their phone, but each to their own. The one thing is that this makes me more gutted that there was no boots from last summer's Euro tour.
Still, having a made-to-order CDs is a really good idea. I couldn't afford those, but having the option of digital boots makes me happy :-)
Yes, yes, yes, yes ...physical cd's, I love them too
thank 10c for this

First of all. AWESOME. One little thing though... wasn't the '06 boots available like the day or two after the show? Hate to be a bastard and cry and whine and blah blah blah, but I don't remember waiting 2 weeks for them. It's too long! I need to hear the shows I went to and make a shrine to them with the poster and ticket stub.
The sound mixing on 2005 and 2006 is pretty bad on some shows: they sound distant, muddy and a bit weak. It's been widely attributed to the punishing timeframe set to get the shows out (a day or two in some cases!) and so the move to a 2-week delay is a FUCKING GODSEND. It should mean a better quality release all around - imagine every show sounding as good as Live On Two Legs or the Gorge box...
I don't think they've always recorded from the soundboard though. I think the '98 tour might be the first one where they religiously recorded soundboards of everything.
I don't have the link, but I recall an interview with Brett Eliason where he stated he'd run a DAT straight off the board at every show from the early days and began multi-track recording (originally to an 8-track) during the Vs tour, upgrading the rig as time went on.
I could be way off, but I'm pretty sure that's right.
THANK YOU GUYS, you deserve all the praise you get.
This has honestly made my fucking week, such good news. Makes me even more excited about watching the setlists come in.

Does that mean that there are a lot of pro-recorded Pearl Jam shows before they started selling the official bootlegs in 2000? I don't follow bootlegs much, and I know there are a few 90s shows that have been released but is there a whole load more hidden away in the infamous 'vault'?
I love the physical cds!! I have all the 2000 and 2003 boots.
I am a little worried that they will just be burned cds. I don't think it's possible to actually press silver cds to order unless they have their own equipment. Also what will the packaging be like? I don't think they would do this, but it's possible they could just ship in those white envelopes you can buy at Staples for about 5¢ each.
I'm sure there will be an option to "buy all" and save on shipping. In 2003 you could buy all and have them shipped individually as they were ready (which was really expensive), or you could wait and have them shipped in legs. So Australia/Japan was one batch, then west/midwest shipped all together, and then east coast in the 3rd leg.

Yep, as far as I understand. Doesn't mean they're all mixed and ready for release, but the tapes exist supposedly.

So the lead singer of a band who once said that he didn't even have MTV (1992) is now releasing songs on V-Cast? Is this to get back at AT&T by going with another global media conglomerate?
Am I missing something? Doesn't the main post say "Digital downloads of full Pearl Jam shows will be available for download two weeks after each concert in mp3 and FLAC formats"?
I don't read this as "you have to wait two weeks," but instead I think it means "you have two weeks to get the concert downloaded." Maybe I am being too optimistic?
I am reading the same way as you. At least for the 2003 tour the boot was available for purchase and digital download about 24 hours after the show. Back then you could purchase the physical CD and still do the digital mp3 download so you'd have the show at least until your CD arrived.
Great job 10c and I like the progessive thinking with the mobile option. I personally won't use it but you've got to experiment to move forward in today's music industry.

I think "burned CD's" would be absolutely pointless. What difference would it make if they do it, or I buy the Flac version and burn it myself? I believe (hope anyway) that the CD's are pressed like in 2003.

Since 'Roo isn't listed on the website, is that being released through their program?

But the MP3 download was poor quality (bitrate) unmixed. But it was nice to have before the cds. Especially if you chose the ship each leg together option like I did.

Well, we'll find out for sure at some point I imagine. Probably when they are put up for sale. I'm sure there will be some packaging and print on the cds, but I still don't see how they could press a cd one at a time for each order. Otherwise they would have said "pressed to order" and not "burned to order".
If the cd case is nice, and it's got print on the cd, I'll still buy if for only $2 more than the FLAC version. It saves me having to burn the cds and making labels.
it seems everyone is going for the cd option this seems a bit alarming as they may put a cap on how many cds are made, you know with the environmental message and all
ive never seen so many positive comments in one thread. ever on here. not even when a tour is announced. way to go ten club. physical cds please us!!!
lol, i think you're right. I haven't seen a single complaint, it's refreshing to see.
I think i'm going to go with the download option, probably FLAC. It's just more convenient for me. But the CD option is badass.
