He'll be at the Borgata in A.C. on 7/27 for everyone on the East Coast . . . and those willing to travel from afar.
"The legacy of Surrealism after 1968 must surely follow artists, writers, thinkers and activists who are committed to the power of the unconscious and to the imagination of other possible worlds."
He was just ridiculous last night. The band was tight, Cornell was fun and there's absolutely no reason on earth why that man should still be able to sing like that.
That show was great, his voice is sheer perfection. I was so impressed. Damn. Does anyone have any pics from the show, I forgot my camera. Post em if you got em. Thanks
I can't believe he played "The Day I Tried To Live". I was at the show in San Francisco on Tuesday. I was happy I got to hear "Zero Chance". It was my first time seeing him. I was amazed by the strength of his voice. Also his band is really good. I kind of felt sorry for the lead guitar player. The guy has to play the role of Kim Thayl, Mike McCready & Tom Morrelo every night. He's does a great job though.
I was at SF.........wishing I coulda made it down to LA but no way. Yeah, they rock mighty and don't say poor Yogi ; P Yogi is very capable and is playing better and better......he is totally up to the task and the fans are acknowledging his ability....
as for the postponed shows it's due to him in dire need of some down time. It's posted on the news portion of http://www.chriscornell.com
Juliet DID kick some ass.........great band and she's just a lil spitfire and she's no kid!! I have a whole new respect for her......

I think Cornell may very well have given up/out the best that he had in him last night. He's probably redefined the word "exhausted".
The band as a whole just gets better...good for them.
Yeah, last night was better than the Avalon gig. This was the 4th time I'd seen Cornell in the L.A. area... even though the Jimmy Kimmel show doesn't really count... but, definatley the best one so far. More Soundgarden last night than the other gigs.
The bad thing... the Pit Area was sold seperately. The closest the fans that waited in line could get was the rail on tier two (which are great seats). But, I saw a lot of unclaimed Pit Wristbands in the box about 3/4 the way through the main set. Waste.
Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!
Hail, Hail!!!
still up from that show!
I was at the SF show the night before then flew in for the Wiltern show. (closer to home)
the SF show was AMAZING with the crowd energy...and his voice was SO crisp...I fully expected him to pull out "Beyond the Wheel" it is THAT caliber!
Sunshower...ahhh.
The Wiltern was great because of The Day I Tried To Live. (thanks to pink sign person!!!)
still speechless over that one!
the crowd wasn't as up as SF (which surprised me) and I was really disappointed when he decided to play "FINALLY FOREVER" but that is just because i REALLY hate that song. I like Carry On and I was hoping for a different song Killing Birds, or Your Soul Today, something like that...but, meh, GREAT SHOW
Damn, I am now fully convinced that when god speaks he uses Mr. Cornell's vocal chords to do so.
IF YOU WANT A PLATE OF MY BEEF SWELLINGTON, YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO PAY THE COVERCHARGE.
I plan on going to Yield before the show since it's just up the street from me. I'll probably be there a little after 6.

I was at the SF show on the Floor, some guy told me I looked like Eddie and that mabye I should grow a beard and do Hunger Strike, that was cool, and Jesus Christ Pose was amazing, it was also really funny when Cornell said
"Yea Who Gives A fuck about the All Star Game"
and then I was all
"YEA FUCK THE ALL STAR GAME"
But I could barely hear myself.
Awesome show.
"If my thoughts, dreams, could be seen, they'd probably put my head, in a guillotine, but it's alright ma, it's life and life only."

Dude, that was you who replied like that?? DAMN! I thought it WAS Vedder.
Jesus Christ Pose was unbelievable...sigh...2 more shows.. San Diego and Costa Mesa...I went with seeing Cornell perform multiples over flying, rooming, and seeing Lolla...it was a good decision.

Here's something funny about that. My wife & I were actually at the All Star Game. We went to Fanfest earlier in the day and then walked down to the ballpark to see if we could catch an inning or two for free through the right field fence. Well we get down to the ballpark and a total stranger just hands us two tickets. The guy said he had extras and he didn't need them. I was in shock. We watched the first 7 innings and then walked to the show. We got to the Warfield just in time to see the Licks last tune. Then of course Cornell was amazing. Overall a day I'll never forget.
Juliet and The Licks kicked ass!! Did you NOT hear us all roaring our approval??? Talentless? I completely dissagree.........with your entire post in fact. But what the fuck, I mean, we all see with different eyes and hear with different ears. Actually, I'm THRILLED I don't feel like you do.
1. Juliette Lewis and The Licks = bunch of talentless people, singer and all, running around and shouting on stage.
2. Cornell's set = Soundgarden covers (that's right, I said covers) -> reverse karaoke. The vocals are obviously there but the music sounds like something totally different
Kim? Ben? are you guys listening? We know where Matt is...
I was also NOT impressed with Juliette and the licks... it all sounded the same to me... sort of a wash. She was very energetic and wasn't wearing a bra so she def kept most peoples attention. Musically however... thumbs down.
Cornell on the other hand... awesome performance. Thought Avalon was better, but probably because everything was GA and we could be close to the stage... where as for this show the pit was sold separatley and GA only got us to the first railing... made the crowd less intense.
Cornell looked pretty trashed. It did not effect his singing though - He is amazing.
Great set list... hoped to hear hunger strike again as its one of my favs, but all in all GREAT!
And the heavens opened up to rain upon it's subjects...the voice of an angel.....
And it was good.
The Set From Heaven:
(Instrumental Sunshower)
Let Me Drown
Outshined
Show Me How To Live
No Such Thing
You Know My Name
Be Yourself Say Hello 2 Heaven (took us to church)
What You Are
Rusty Cage
Safe & Sound
Finally Forever (acoustic solo)
Fell on Black Days (acoustic solo)
Like a Stone (acoustic solo)
Doesn't Remind Me
Cochise The Day I Tried to Live (first time in 10 years thanks to a pink sign...righteous)
Can't Change Me
Spoonman Jesus Christ Pose (raised f*cking the roof)
She'll Never Be Your Man My Wave (heard my plea and answered...thank you)
Burden in My Hand
Black Hole Sun
And it was good.
Holly shit that's a great setlist. Was hoping for the same here in Denver. :(
She was very energetic and wasn't wearing a bra so she def kept most peoples attention.
You're saying this like it's a bad thing... ???
Another great show from Cornell... good set list, though I would have loved to hear more TOTD. His voice was solid again, and I also thought the Avalon was a little more intense, probably because the venue is more intimate.... or maybe because I was just a little drunker.
Wiltern is a real nice venue but they definitely blew it with the separate up-close pit set-up. But I was about 4 rows off the first rail and had a great view, can't complain.
