Whoa! Yeah, Darkness is awesome..my favorite Bruce album. Is this your introduction to Bruce or have you heard some of this other stuff.

no, I listened to many Bruce records and songs before, but I only had my sis tape for Born in the USA, I got myself a copy of the same album on vinyl, first pressing, US release about 5 years ago, here in Buenos Aires, but yeah, I have to say that this could be an introduction, let's say big entrance, red carpet treatment, it is a completely different world, I saw the box set quite appealing, and I never heard any of those songs, neither from Darkness nor from Promise, I didn't know what I was going to get, or listen, it exceeded all my expectations... last saturday I was talking to a friend and told him about this, and we both agreed on how great this edition is, and decided that we have to listen to The Rising and Working on a dream again, but this time it will be from another perspective, and he strongly suggested I should get the Hyde Park DVD, we weren't sure if it was a live show at Hyde Park, but we know that is the show that starts with London Calling by The Clash... and that will be my next Bruce Springsteen collectible... always looking and aiming for the best...
... I am not in the business of being liked anymore ...

This is for the Bruce bootleg guys what is the best live version of prove it all night. Looking for late 70's early 80's preferably.

    Thanks

The Winterland, Agora and legendary Passaic shows are the best boots from the Darkeness tour... here's Prove It from the 9/19/78 Passaic show :D :

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWos8TS9yaE

Thanks I have about 30 shows including the ones you mentioned and the 12/15 winterland one definitely sounds the best. The only other boot from 78 I have is West Virginia would you recommend any other shows from the Darkness tour?

BTW for anyone wondering looks like they moved the Bruce bootleg site.

I am going to show my age here but the morning of December 31st 1980, I hanging with some buds and I was fully preparing to go See SouthSide Johnny and the Asbury Jukes at the Capital Theater in Passaic. I had 2 5th row seat. My buds had two tickets to see Bruce at Nassua. My one friend wanted to spend time with his Girlfriend and asked if I would trade my 2 tickets for one Bruce ticket. I got to see Bruce's longest show and spent the last hour front row after meeting Bruce's Mom who told the security guard to let me go up front. This show ranks as my all time favorite by a long shot. The only show that has come close is The Grateful Dead's Rainforest Benefit at MSG. First Time Bruce Hornsby sat in with the band.

On Jan 5, 1973 Bruce released his debut album
    Greetings From Asbury Park

On January 5, 1973, Bruce Springsteen released his debut album Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J. Recorded in a single week the album only sold about 25,000 copies in the first year of its release. Both “Blinded By The Light” and “Spirit In The Night” were released as singles but neither made a dent in the charts. Manfred Mann’s Earth Band later released a version of “Blinded By The Light” on their album The Roaring Silence, which reached #1 on the US charts in 1977.

People were saying Wednesday on the Backstreets forum, but I don't think that came from a reliable source.
