So is this going to be an E-Street record along the lines of The Rising and Magic, or a Springsteen solo album (i.e. Devils & Dust) with some collaborations from E-Street members?

I personally would love another E-Street record (wouldn't we all), although it will be strange without Clarence.

it was strange without Danny too,
but Bruce uses his many resources & makes it happen.

    BruceSpringsteen012007PA210910.jpg

Bruce Springsteen is said to be releasing a new album called ’Arcade At Night’ on November 8, according to a press release that was posted on comicbookresources.com.

The press release reveals that Springsteen recorded the album with the founding members of the E Street Band, including Steven Van Zandt, David Sancious and Roy Bittan.

The record is said to feature 12 new songs, in addition to a bonus track titled ’Bigger Than Life’, written in memory of the band’s saxophonist, Clarence Clemons. The supposed statement cites that Clemons passed away in June 2010, but he actually died in June 2011 from a stroke, which adds doubt to the validity of the press release.

The statement continues to reveal that the Ron Aniello-produced album was recorded at Thrill Hill Recording in Colts Neck, New Jersey.

Bruce Springsteen has, however, been confirmed to appear on ‘The Bridge School Concerts 25th Anniversary Edition’ CD/DVD with an acoustic version of ’Born In The USA’. The Bridge School Benefit is an annual not-for-profit charity concert held in California, organised by Neil Young and his wife Pegi. Proceeds go to helping individuals with severe speech and physical impairments

So who’s going to Sting’s birthday concert at the Beacon Theatre in New York tonight? Anyone? Bueller?

We know Springsteen will be there to perform, along with Lady Gaga, Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige, Herbie Hancock, Robert Downey Jr., Vince Gill, Will.i.am, Rufus Wainwright, Branford Marsalis, Billy Joel, and Chris Botti. We’re hoping all at once. (What’s Robert Downey Jr. going to be doing, by the way? Reciting scenes from Iron Man?) But given that most of the seats are by invitation-only, we doubt we’ll see many regular folk in attendance, especially the type of regular folk willing to tape the show on their iPhones and upload it to YouTube within minutes of it being over.

But if you’re one of the lucky few who got fan club tickets and are willing to risk Sting getting all medieval on you with his tantric muscles if you get caught, record away and let us know when it’s posted! We’ll flag any videos that turn up here tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Springsteen’s Twitter alter-ego, @Boss1949, promises he will be “live tweeting” from tonight’s event. We can only imagine what will come of that.

Also, tonight in Florida, a much more accessible ticket is the tribute to Clarence Clemons at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. We’re looking for reports from that also, so keep us posted! If you need us we’ll be home watching Nutty Professor 2: The Klumps on Ion.

    A previously unreleased 1973 broadcast...
"....Greetings From Asbury Park saw the light of day in early ’73, and within the week Springsteen, with a little help from three of the soon to be named East Street Band, were performing their first ever radio broadcast, aired on Boston’s WBCN FM. A quite remarkable performance ensued with Bruce and the boys in excellent humour and fine form as they played a terrific set, although remarkably including just one cut from Greetings..."

I was watching this tonight. This whole dvd fucking rocks - the intensity, the tightness of the E-Street Band with a fire still burning so brightly after all the years of playing together and of course The Boss giving an amazing performance - including on lead guitar (people forget what a great guitar player the guy is).

Anyway - thought I would share it (with my fingers crossed for an official album press release soon!)

I can watch 'Streets of Fire' from that DVD over and over again, too. My daughter has some program that can convert DVD audio to something you can stick on an iPod so thats how I've been rolling with this one. Very true, though -- the E-Street band was as tight as can be for this performance; probably had a lot to do with touring pretty much non-stop for the last 10 years. :D

Yeah, this version of Streets Of Fire is POWERFUL. I admit, the first time I saw that performance, I was in tears.

I'm guessing that new album stuff was a hoax. Hasn't been confirmed by the springsteen camp right?

    Hey folks

went to the bob woodriff show.
Ricky gervais, Jim Gaffigan , Jon Stewart and then Bruce.

    _ Open All Night
    _ Spirit In The Night
_Land Of Hopes and Dreams ( acoustic )
    _ Long Tall Sally

I was in the next to very last row, just about dead center / rightish

You cant really see too much ,
but if you care to hear the
acoustic Land Of Hopes and Dreams
which sounded pretty f'n good in that next to last row in that old Beacon.

Well, things are starting to heat up down on E Street.

    http://www.facebook.com/brucespringsteen

A lot of you have been hearing that Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be on tour in 2012. That is absolutely correct. The European dates run from the middle of May until end of July and are being announced this week. Info on the US dates and the World tour dates will coming up shortly.

In addition, we want you to know that the music is almost done (but still untitled), we have almost settled on the release date (but not quite yet), and that we are all incredibly excited about everything that we're planning for 2012. That's all the info we have for right now, but we'll get back to you--real soon.
