I totally agree with you on the boring aspect but with that poster having such bright colors I would've definitely used white or maybe that light blue on her forehead!

It sure looks like it is double matted to me!!

I have to agree that sometimes the white matte is not the best choice. I remember the Hamilton poster

    http://photobucket.com/albums/v333/c...IMG_1708. jpg

not the best choice for sure......but even with the black matte it`s not perfect to me

    http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...rames/ham1.jpg

Remember the Kitchener poster with the green matte.......that is way to much green for me!

I hate black and white mats. But sometimes it looks the best! My NW school has a black mat and it looks amazing! I was going to do the yellow but the lemon lime effect didnt go well with the room!

Yep, it has to fit with the room to! The NW with white matte and silver frame looks pretty nice to me.....you should post yours with the black one......I have to frame mine soon!

Those links don't work, but I know exactly which pictures you are talking about. I am going to get my Hailton and Kitchener posters framed soon and those posters are VERY difficult to do a good framing job on (London too).

Kitchener - the green is too much, the white is way too much. Perhaps you could try to match the red colour in the boxers. But even that I'm not so sure about.

Hamilton - definitely no white or red mattes. Yellow is the only colour you could use but it does look better as the second matte colour. That really only leaves black as the main matte colour.

One guy posted is London poster and it looked amazing! Black matte with a thin red line! I think the link is still there...and working!

Is that one yours? That looks great. Much better than the single red matte look that a lot of people are doing.

Yeah, it's mine. There are two primary colors on the poster that are easy to match with mattes...just putting one matte on it is silly.

But at the same time, I think the combination you came up with is the best one. I think reversing them would be a little too heavy on the red.
I totally agree and Bucky I'm ripping this idea off for mine

Please do...I've had dozens of e-mails from people telling me that they're going to use my HOB frame, too...as long as you like them, go for it!

Well thanks. A lot of people dont' want people "copying" their poster ideas. But the way I see it, I would rather have someone copy my idea and have a great looking framed poster than to have someone go out and ruin a poster by doing a bad matte/frame job on it because they had no creative ideas.

By the way, your HOB looks out of this world!

Agreed....it's not a competition. We all have the same poster, frame it anyway you want it.

Where did you get the HOB.....it<s totally different from the other one we normally see!
Sorry for the delay in answering - damn holidays and mystery posters. That House of Blues poster was snagged by me at the show. It is a test print from the show- sick huh?? Someone was trying to claim that there are like 20 to 25 of these in circulation. Does anyone have one of these that can prove it? I would like to see if there is even one person that can claim to own this poster. Let's see. That was just the start of my most unbelievable night. Still feels like yesterday.

Thanks, and to be honest that's not even 1/5 of the posters that I have. I am in the process of getting them organized and finding out exactly what I have. They have been in 80 poster tubes since 1998 when I first bought from the tenclub and ames bros. back then for $12-$30 each. The good old days.

Almost as impressive as the collection is how you managed to find a wall color that complimented nearly every single print! Looks fantastic :) I'm rather jealous.

Well, not that was done on purpose or anything, but it turned out all right, yes? I have had to take them all down since we are turning that room into our new baby's room, however, they will all resurface somewhere in the house...8 of them already have, much to the wife's chagrin!
